Hello, I've created a CSS-library called sunset.css. If offers a collection of (hopefully) useful CSS-powered hover-animations and also some animations that react to clicks instead. It's my first open-source project so I try to make everything right: * I created a npm-project so it is available on npmjs and CDNs * I created a public github-repository with a wiki for documentation * I created a landing page to show off the animations I'd love to here some feedback about all of this! :) Here are the links: https://github.com/philippwilhelm/sunset.css…

Hey HN, I recently built a small TypeScript utility called `hover-effects-ts` — it adds fun and experimental hover effects to images using the HTML canvas. You can apply effects like ASCII art, Lego blocks, glitch distortion, and pixelation on hover. The goal was to break away from boring `:hover` transitions and bring some delightful visual feedback to personal websites, landing pages, or error screens — while keeping it lightweight and performance-friendly. Why I built it: I found most image hovers visually bland, and wanted something weird but still dev-friendly. I used canvas to keep the…

Hey Guys, Would love some feedback on a javascript library that I am working on. It's designed to ease the pain with implementing touch support (and maintaining mouse support also) when implementing interactive web apps / demos. http://sidelab.github.com/interact/ I'm basically re-implementing (and improving in the process) the interaction handling I had built in Tile5 (HTML5 Mapping Library). For this reason, it has a slant towards interfaces that make use of panning and zoom, but you can definitely build applications that don't need these features. Thanks, Damon.

Hey All, It isn't 100% complete yet, but I've decided to cut a 0.0.1 release for IntercoolerJS: http://intercoolerjs.org/ Intercooler is a Partial View Controller framework, where AJAX responses are HTML fragments (partials) that are swapped in for existing content, based roughly on the Basecamp 2 approach. If anyone else is interested in working on or using the project, please let me know: there is still tons of interesting work to do (e.g. back-button/pushState() support) I think that, for many apps, this might be a good way to get 90% of the UX advantages of a thick…
