A fast, keyboard-driven terminal organizer for macOS
- 1WA
Hi HN community, I’m Zach, founder and CEO of Warp, and am excited to show you Warp, a fast Rust-based terminal that’s easy to use and built for teams. As of today, Warp is in public beta and any Mac user can download it. It works with bash, zsh, and fish. The terminal’s teletype-like interface has made it hard for the CLI to thrive. After 20 years of programming, I still find it hard to copy a command’s output; I always forget how to use `tar`; and I always have to relearn how to move my cursor. To fix fundamental accessibility issues, I believe we need to start innovating on the terminal,…

Every single day of my life since I started programming back in 2020 I open my projects through the terminal/ghostty. "cd path" + "code .". Until today I don't even know how to open vscode first then open a project from there. I usually have 3-4 vscode windows open at the same time, and I like them in separate desktops (for mac users). i gotta admit, i use 8 desktops, 3-4 for vscode, 1 for arc, 1 for docker, 1 for postman etc. So my daily routine when I turned on my mac was: (1) open ghostty; (2) cd-path+code.; (3) drag the vscode window to a desired desktop; (4) get back to the ghostty…

I built DockFlow after constantly rearranging my macOS Dock when switching between coding, designing, or writing tasks. macOS only supports one Dock layout, and every context switch felt like wasted time and broken focus. DockFlow solves this by letting you save multiple Dock presets and switch between them instantly, all without complex setup or bloat. Key features: - Save and switch between multiple Dock configurations - Assign custom hotkeys to change layouts instantly - Add apps, folders, files, or links to your Dock - Insert visual spacers to group items - Lightweight and macOS-native…

I've recently launched a new open-source project aimed at enhancing the experience of switching between Spaces/workspaces on macOS. The built-in Spaces feature is often slow and unfriendly. This project is designed to boost your productivity :). Enjoy!

Hi HN, like many of you talented folk, I’ve been building more, faster than ever. I built Saggar after my terminal stopped feeling like a tool and started feeling like a tab-management problem. Let me know you think!

Hi HN, I’m Mike, the founder and creator of Wave, a cross-platform open-source terminal that supports inline rendering, modern UI, and persistent sessions. I love the command line; I’ve been using it for over 25 years, starting with a Linux box I made with spare parts in my college dorm room. But while other devtools have been modernized, the terminal has been stuck, with the same basic functionality for over 40-years. What if your command line terminal could display more than just text? That’s crazy right (I can hear the screams of thousands of graybeard sysadmins). Not all the time, but…
