Products that do what Bend 2.0 API for transaction enrichment/CO2e estimates does
Heyy HN. We’re celebrating 2 years of Bend’s existence as a company and we’ve launched a new API to help you understand the climate impact of business activity, and/or embed climate data in your application. For most companies, 80% of your emissions are from the goods and services that you buy. Unless you’re running a power plant or an airline, odds are you’re not directly combusting lots of fossil fuels. But literally everything we buy has some upstream climate impact, whether it’s the flights and Ubers that we purchase, or our AWS bills (that run on grids powered by natural gas), all…

Hi HN! We’re Ted and Thomas from Bend (YC S22). Today we’re launching a modern corporate card built for climate-friendly business. Just by shifting some of your company spending to Bend, you’ll be helping to reduce climate-changing emissions, thanks to the carbon removal rewards you’ll automatically earn, and our embedded climate analytics. But we know that signing up for a new financial service can take some upfront effort, so we wanted to sweeten the deal — create an account today (Friday Apr 21), and we’ll deposit a *$100 gift* in your account to start spending immediately — see the site…

Have you ever wondered about the carbon footprint of your API? This week, the 27th climate summit takes place in Egypt. This inspired us to draw attention to the emissions produced by our online behaviour. We introduced some CO2-related features to our API testing tool: - Calculate carbon emissions of an API call - Set up a check to validate that your API endpoint doesn't cross the limit when it comes to emissions - Test all your API endpoints and get an approximate calculation of your API emissions in total We hope that by using these features, you will become more aware of the carbon…

Hey folks, I’m Hassan, one of the co-founders of Infracost (https://www.infracost.io). Infracost helps engineers see and reduce the cloud cost of each infrastructure change before they merge their code. The way Infracost works is we gather pricing data from Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud. What we call a ‘Pricing Service’, which now holds around 9 million live price points (!!). Then we map these prices to infrastructure code. Once the mapping is done, it enables us to show the cost impact of a code change before it is merged, directly in GitHub, GitLab etc.…

Hey HN: Kaveh here, the founder of https://www.usage.ai/ We launched on Hacker News for the first time early last year, and we've made a lot of progress since then. We've saved tens of millions of dollars for companies, and we are even more excited to announce the launch of a new product: insured reservations for RDS! We worked closely with AWS on this feature and are excited to finally make it generally available. We help companies drive down AWS EC2 & RDS spend. Why? Because the way it's done now is a pain. DevOps and Software Engineers end up spending time managing costs…
