Hey HN, This is Adrian and David, and we're excited (and nervous) to show you basetool (https://basetool.io). Basetool helps companies view and manage all their data in one place. Companies have data in tons of places like BI tools, data warehouses, 3rd party services, and their databases. However, because the tools are not connected, it's a hassle to have visibility across the whole organization and even more difficult to safely share that data with the team or external collaborators. The vision is to give basetool access to your data source and get a tool that way above a…

Hi HN! I am excited to share Hadmean with you all for feedback and early adoption. What: Hadmean is an open-source, no-code internal tool generator. Why: Most internal tool generators make you build from the ground up i.e you get a blank canvas, drag and drop and wire components to satisfy your business requirement. This I believe has many problems. - They require some technical know-how. - They require some learning curve. - They require time to build and maintain. - You duplicate a lot of business logic already in your database. How: Hadmean attempts internal tool generation with a new…

Hi HN, Rick and Alex here, co-founders of Cogram. We’ve been making project-management software for architects and engineers since 2023, and are now experimenting with a second product. Cogram Studio (studio.cogram.com) is a CAD and BIM workspace for AI agents to create three-dimensional models and dimensioned drawings. Studio runs FreeCAD (https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD) 1.1 headlessly, using the OpenCASCADE (https://github.com/Open-Cascade-SAS/OCCT) geometry kernel. It imports and exports STEP, IFC, STL, DXF and FCStd files. Studio exposes an MCP…

Hello Hacker News community! I'm currently working in financial risk management within the banking sector, and I began my career as a Data Science specialist. For quite some time, my friend and I have been developing a small pet project just for fun. This tool has repeatedly helped us save time when testing various hypotheses and machine learning models. The core idea is to combine different scripts—created in various programming languages and virtual environments—within a minimalist graphical interface. Whether you're building models, running a local neural network, or sending requests to…

Hello good people of HN, This is Rohan from Almanac (YC S26). Today I want to share CodeAlmanac. It is a self-updating wiki for your coding agent. It lives in your repo as Markdown files and updates from your conversations with your agent. It’s open-source, local, and free. How it works 1. Install the CLI and pick your agent (it uses your CC or Codex sub) 2. It scans your codebase and generates an initial wiki. 3. A background job reads your agent conversations every few hours and updates the wiki 4. Your agent queries the wiki through a local SQLite index, using commands like codealmanac…

GitHub: https://github.com/Amal-David/gitbook-downloader Key features: Downloads complete GitBook documentation sites Converts to clean markdown format Web interface for easy URL input Works with ChatGPT, Claude, and other LLMs Preserves document structure and internal links [Still some bugs here, need to fix it] Will publish a hosted version if there is enough interest. Ideal for: Training custom LLMs with…
