PicoMQ is a Rust server for Durable Streams, built on Object Store. Cheap, URL-addressable, granular streams (create/append/read/long-poll/SSE), with Pico Protocol or Durable Streams Protocol as the facade. S3Stream is the stream storage primitive, used in AutoMQ, shipped as a Rust library. Coordination is a command log in Postgres.

I am happy to announce Stalwart JMAP [1], an open-source JSON Meta Application Protocol server that aims to be scalable, robust and secure. Some of its key features are: - JMAP Core, JMAP Mail and JMAP over WebSocket full compliance. - IMAP4 rev2/1 support via Stalwart IMAP, an imap-to-jmap proxy [2]. - Scalable and fault tolerant: consensus over Raft, node autodiscovery over gossip and read-only replicas. - RocksDB backend with full-text search support in 17 languages. - OAuth 2.0 authorization code and device authorization flows. - Domain Keys Identified Mail (DKIM) message signing. -…

Hello, everyone. Three months ago, I started building my first GoLang package, VarMQ. In this short period, I gained a significant amount of traction from the community, and it resulted in over 140 stars on GitHub. A week ago, to check how it performs, I ran benchmarks with a similar package, Pond, which has been managed for years. Pond is not a message queue, though; however, it can be compared to VarmQ since it shares some similarities, except for its storage system. From the benchmarks, I got surprising results, which are that Varmq is taking 50%+ less memory than Pond and also has good…

Hey HN, we’re Robert, Din and Temirlan from Laminar (https://www.lmnr.ai), an open-source observability and analytics platform for complex LLM apps. It’s designed to be fast, reliable, and scalable. The stack is RabbitMQ for message queues, Postgres for storage, Clickhouse for analytics, Qdrant for semantic search - all powered by Rust. How is Laminar different from the swarm of other “LLM observability” platforms? On the observability part, we’re focused on handling full execution traces, not just LLM calls. We built a Rust ingestor for OpenTelemetry (Otel) spans with GenAI…

Hi HN. I'm Carl, creator of LavinMQ. LavinMQ is an open-source message broker. AMQP 0-9-1, MQTT, HTTP and streaming. Single binary, minimal resource use. If you know RabbitMQ, it's that (but running on a fraction of hardware). We're the team behind CloudAMQP where we've hosted RabbitMQ for 14 years. Sometimes customers hit issues we couldn't fully explain / work around. So we built our own broker, in order to provide solutions where we previously couldn't (which is much easier when you control the full stack). It all started by me building an open-source AMQP proxy to handle short-lived…

Ditch Burp Suite’s bloat for zxc, a Rust-built, terminal-based proxy that uses tmux and Vim to intercept HTTP/S and WebSocket traffic. It captures requests for debugging, security testing, or tweaking—fast and lean. # Key Features - Disk Wizardry: Stashes massive datasets on disk-100k+ entries without breaking a sweat. - Addons: Boost your workflow with default support for ffuf and sqlmap, or craft your own addons for extra fun. - Buffer Tweaks: Edit variables in a popup (e.g., b:host, b:scheme) in Interceptor/Repeater to twist requests. - Config Control: TOML files for global…

hi there! i’ve been working on a project called Narwhal, and I wanted to share it with the community to get some valuable feedback. what is it? Narwhal is a lightweight Pub/Sub server and protocol designed specifically for edge applications. while there are great tools out there like NATS or MQTT, i wanted to build something that prioritizes customization and extensibility. my goal was to create a system where developers can easily adapt the routing logic or message handling pipeline to fit specific edge use cases, without fighting the server's defaults. why Rust? i chose Rust because i…

I am happy to announce Stalwart SMTP [1], a modern SMTP server developed in Rust with a focus on security, speed, and extensive configurability. It features built-in DMARC, DKIM, SPF and ARC support for message authentication, strong transport security through DANE, MTA-STS and SMTP TLS reporting, and offers great flexibility and customization thanks to its dynamic configuration rules and native support for Sieve scripts. The project has been recently awarded a grant from NLNet and the European Commission's Next Generation Internet program to develop a mail server in Rust. The next step in…

I built a message broker that speaks the Kafka wire protocol, so any Kafka client (librdkafka, kafka-python, kcat, etc.) works without code changes. The entire binary is 52KB. No JVM, no ZooKeeper, no third-party libraries — just C++20 with kqueue/epoll. Starts in <10ms, uses 0% CPU when idle. I built this because running Kafka locally for development is painful — gigabytes of RAM, slow startup, ZooKeeper/KRaft configuration. I just wanted something that accepts produce requests and gets out of the way. Technical details: - Single-threaded event loop (kqueue on macOS, epoll on…
