Hello, HN - I wanted to share this puzzle game I made during my vacation. I'm rather fond of the pipes puzzle where your goal is to restore a scrambled network of connections by rotating tiles. It's usually played on a grid of squares and this all started when I decided to make a programmatic solver for that kind of puzzle. Then I realized that with some minor changes the solver could generate new puzzle instances. I thought about what kind of puzzle to make and someone suggested a hexagonal grid. A while ago I discovered three.js, a JavaScript library to manipulate 3D objects. It looked really interesting, but I had no real need for it... To change that I recently challenged myself to make one 3D web game per month with three.js. Hi HN, I'd like to share a logic number puzzle game I created! It is somewhat reminiscent of Sudoku and Minesweeper, but with its own twist. The rules are simple but it can be quite challenging! Please enjoy :) The feedback on the game prototype was invaluable and I incorporated a lot into what I hope is a more polished version of the game. What's new: Introduced a daily puzzle challenge. Dev here. I created a puzzle that looks like Rubik's cube but works differently. Instead of turning faces, closed bands of 12 stickers slide around the cube. Every scramble is solvable. I built on-device AI solvers that solve it in about 60 moves (sometimes substantially less than that) I'm not even a cuber so since I created it I've been thinking that no human can solve it.
