Products that do what BreakoutList but for high-impact climate companies does
"I'm a software engineer and I want to work on solving climate change - where do I start?" A few months ago, I wanted to help my friends answer this question so I soft-launched a low-code version of climatetechlist.com. The site got more traction than I expected- at least two SWEs found jobs at climate tech companies so this week I launched a redesigned a better version One of the things I realized as a software engineer job seeker myself is that it can be hard to cut through the noise and understand what companies do, so my aim with ClimateTechList was to make that as clear as possible,…

Hey folks. Last year I was fortunate enough to sign a deal to write a book with my favorite technical publisher, The Pragmatic Bookshelf. When I started out as an Engineering Manager many years ago, I found that there wasn't a huge amount of material that specifically and practically helped me understand how to do my job. When you learn to program there's all of these amazing tutorials, examples and guides, but what was there for new managers? In response to this, a couple of years ago I started a blog over at https://www.theengineeringmanager.com which got a decent amount of…

I built a search engine for engineering blogs because I was tired of manually checking individual company blogs to find real-world production examples. The problem: When learning a new technology, the best insights often come from how companies like Google, Meta, or Stripe actually implement it in production. But these gems are scattered across dozens of separate engineering blogs with no way to search across them. What I built: Engineering.fyi indexes engineering blogs from ~15 companies (Google, Meta, OpenAI, Anthropic, Stripe, Uber, etc.) and makes them searchable in one place. You can…

Hello everyone! We have just launched ClimateTriage.com, a platform helping you to contribute to open source projects focused on climate technology and sustainability. We provide a curated directory covering climate change, sustainable energy, biodiversity, natural resources & more. Our hope is to utilize the work of Open Sustainable Technology and ecosyste.ms, in order to pragmatically enable developers/contributors to get involved in these fantastic projects. I built the webapp with Next.js/TypeScript, using the ecosyste.ms API to take a local copy of the repositories - finally…

Hey guys, we just launched a platform to match top startups with high end projects. We're focused on supporting startups that would rather take on a short term consulting gig than raising a round of funding. We'd love some feedback. Thanks!
