Most feedback tools are built like people actually want to report bugs. They don’t. Unless you make it dead-simple, or better yet - a little fun. After shipping a few SaaS products, I noticed a pattern: Bugs? Yes. Bug reports? No. Not because users didn’t care but because reporting bugs is usually a terrible experience. Most tools want users to: * Fill out a long form * Enter their email * Describe a bug they barely understand * Maybe sign in or create an account * Then maybe submit it Let’s be real: no one’s doing that. Especially not someone just trying to use your product. So I built…

Hi everyone on HackerNews, We are just launching Bugbusters. Bugbusters is a GitHub-Bot that writes bugfixes for errors detected by application monitoring software like sentry. It examines an error's monitoring data, such as stack traces, in combination with the source code and git commit history to generate a potential fix. The bugfix will be submitted via a Pull Request that will also include details on the determined cause of the initial error and approach taken to fix it. You can simply create a GitHub Issue containing a link to the error in sentry and assign it to the Bugbusters-Bot. In…

Hi HN, tl;dr we built a bug finder that's working really well, especially for app backends. Try it out and send us your thoughts! Long story below. -------------------------- We originally set out to work on technical debt. We had all seen codebases with a lot of debt, so we had personal grudges about the problem, and AI seemed to be making it a lot worse. Tech debt also seemed like a great problem for AI because: 1) a small portion of the work is thinky and strategic, and then the bulk of the execution is pretty mechanical, and 2) when you're solving technical debt, you're usually trying to…

Hey HN, We wanted to get your thoughts and feedback on a software development tool we recently released. Buglab is a visual testing tools for websites and web apps. It works by running automated scheduled tests that compare every page to its baseline and notifies you in case there are any discrepancies. That means you can use it both for monitoring that nothing on your product has broken (which could be caused by internal updates or external libraries, APIs, etc.) or for A/B testing to ensure consistency across browsers. It's like a spellchecker for your UI and UX. Our goal is to…
