Products that do what Build a Better Software Developer Resume does
After about 10 years as a developer, interviewing many devs, and reviewing hundreds of resumes I decided to write a guide that I wish I had when I was first starting out. Completely free (just enter $0 as price) If you find it helpful, would love it if you: - Leave a review - Share it with a friend who might also benefit!

Hello. This year I dived into UI/UX area and at the same time I work as a web developer. I sincerely love making good UI. But at my full time job it's not always possible due to different reasons =\ So I've been posting random UI/UX staff on Twitter, then I made a free book that had 50 tips (posted it here as well). I decided to finish this year by collecting everything I learned and here it is: https://akcium.gumroad.com/l/ui-ux-tips. This time it's a paid one. But, you can check ~20 pages of it, just go to…

I created http://devtest.net as a weekend project, and I'm pretty proud of it from a technical and UI standpoint. The problem is, I've built this by myself in a bit of a vacuum, to "scratch my own itch", and I don't know if this is useful to anyone other than me. I'm also not so hot on the business side and don't really know what I'm doing. Basically, I'm looking for some advice, now that I've actually launched, what now? One thing that this has shown me is that I'm capable of putting together a pretty decent web application on my own in my spare time. Should I stick with this idea, or…

Hi HN! We launched 10000resumes.com as a fun, visual alternative for developers to showcase their skills, roles, and social links in a grid format (inspired by the Million Dollar Homepage). Since our last post, we’ve added: Search functionality: Highlight profiles in real-time by skill, role, or name. Price drop to $0.19/spot: To reduce spam (free grids risked low-quality entries). Why repost? Previous posts were flagged for criticizing LinkedIn (lesson learned! ). We’re not here to bash platforms—just offer a quirky, browsable space for devs. Feedback drove major updates: search,…

I’ve built a service to write technical resumes for free at www.leetresumes.com You provide your existing resume, answer ten questions, and in a couple days I’ll email your improved resume back to you, optimized for resume readers, parsers, and what hiring managers are looking for in 2021. We’re just starting out, so we can probably handle 1,000 or so resumes per week. Hopefully, as we automate the product, we’ll be able to handle more volume, but right now, there’s still humans in the loop to ensure quality at Leet Resumes: www.leetresumes.com If you’re interested in our internals,…

We got tired of not being able to accurately answer "When will this be done?" and "Will anyone be required to work overtime on the current schedule?", or spending too much time in meetings and standups trying to answer those questions. Just opened up for beta. Would love some opinionated developers to guide future improvements (or feedback on the general idea).

Hi HN! I'm a developer who noticed that I haven't done much experimentation lately. I decided I wanted to change that this year. This month I built a simple resume builder with the main goal of practicing front-end development, and to scratch an itch I had when updating my resume. :) After it was functional enough, I casually shared with some friends to express my enjoyment of crafting something just for the sake of having some fun. To my surprise they ended up asking how they could send to others. So I went one step further, due to my pure excitement, and hosted it on Netlify to make…

Hello HN! I want to share DevScreen (https://devscreen.io/). We’ve been iterating on DevScreen for a few years now with the goal of delivering an awesome interview process for both candidates and the company. We achieve this by using realistic job-based tests and allowing the candidate to use their own editor - not a whiteboard or unfamiliar online code editor. Many of the existing products in this space just bring the same old whiteboard coding puzzles to the web, without solving the core problem: those tests are not a good indicator of performance. This is a waste of time…

Hello folks! Me and a small group of developers started a free newsletter. The idea is to share 3 web dev tips every Monday. Our goal is to improve our writing skills and share knowledge as much as possible. So far, few hundreds of developers have subscribed and seem to like it. To get a feeling of what kind of stuff we share, here is an example of last Monday's issue: https://us4.campaign-archive.com/?u=5e499c75818d4611a008adfb5&id=106e5fbc71 If this is something that would interest you, you can subscribe here (its completely free):…
