Products that do what Built a site to find London's best art exhibitions does
I live in London, and I got tired of endlessly searching for things to do every weekend, I struggle to make good plans (which my wife isn’t happy about). We like most seeing new exhibitions etc, and I hate Timeout London as it’s full of crap and restaurant promos imho. I decided to scrape all exhibition, museum event pages with help of AI, and automated it. Built a website, which lists live art events and exhibitions (only in London for now) and wanted to share it with you. Hope you find it useful, and please let me know if I missed any places (which I’m sure I did)

I just redesigned an old (1 year) project and would appreciate any feedback. The site has no real purpose other than allowing you to explore the large amount of imagery gathered by Google. You can make it less random by choosing a country, or indeed any geographical area (cities etc.) http://www.mapcrunch.com Thanks

Hi, this is a project I have been working on for the last 1 month. :) The search engine is designed to make discovering events easier and faster with only one search input. To keep my budget down, only these cities are available for search at the moment: Barcelona, Berlin, Hamburg, Lisbon, London, Munich, NYC, Paris, SF, Singapore. I love culture + travel, and one of my favorite pastimes is dropping into random streets on Google Street View. I was already doing this semi-manually for a handful a websites of my own and then I thought "Hey, other people might want to do this too". I added a gallery to my random Google Street View site a few months ago, to showcase the more interesting images found by users. http://www.mapcrunch.com/gallery This section of the site however doesn't seem to get many visits (around 10% of users visiting the main site), and those that do visit tend not to go beyond the first page of the gallery (again, around 10%). Hey HN! I built this over the weekend. It is basically an extremely rudimentary crowd sourced recommendation system for anything in any city. I know that I could easily look this information up on Yelp but I thought it might be nicer to simply look up something like "the best steak in new york" and get that information. The database is almost empty but if you look up the "best coffee in ann arbor" you'll get a result which I seeded. Go ahead and contribute what you can.
