So I just did my semi-annual "log in to Twitter to see if it's any good yet", and found that in my absence I had followed a few thousand new spam accounts. Sweet. That explains why they emailed me and forced me to change my password last year. Being Awesome, Twitter doesn't have any way to simply toss out all your followers and start from scratch. And none of the spammy apps claiming to do so actually will (even seemingly after charging you money to try). So instead, I just pulled open the Dev console and did this:…

Whether it is a designer ultra-tweeting about some conference she is at or a venture capitalist intensely describing his pursuit of the always-elusive "inbox zero", sometimes you just want to mute someone you follow on Twitter. This extensions allows you to do just that. You can easily put accounts that you follow in the penalty box, where they will be silenced and feel shame. When you have deemed their sins absolved, you can let them out, free to fill your Twitter stream again. Download: http://bit.ly/u1giXH Read About: http://bit.ly/tdqX6y Source: http://bit.ly/tmxvf1

We recently launched an adblocking product which saves you data on your cellular and Wifi plans. As we were working on Datajoy, we also understood that for creative people, adblocking sucks big time. The more people block ads, the less ad revenue websites make. Well, we at Datajoy figured we would try to play fair by paying for content we currently view for free. We are calling it the "F-U, Pay Me" model (FUPM). You can set yourself up to receive payments from users of Datajoy with minimal effort (NO profile creation necessary!) by following the instructions on the FUPM page…

Hello HN! A few days ago I saw a comment on reddit which proposed a service that allowed the user to spam a website's server logs with messages objecting to the presence of various anti-features like popups, noisy ads, and autoplaying content. The idea tickled my fancy, so I've put together a Chrome extension which detects if a page is using Google Analytics, and if so it injects a small script which sends bunk utm (urchin tracking module) data to the GA backend. It sets the traffic source to "DO NOT WANT!", and the campaign name to various things like "I do NOT want noisy ads!" Here's the…

Hey HN, I’m a solopreneur and have been in the SaaS space for the past 3 years. My last 3 startups failed, and a common challenge in all of them was figuring out how to reach my audience. Recently I started with cold outreach (its a struggle, since I dont have much experience with marketing). I am finding leads mainly using exa.ai websets (web vector search, extremelly good for multiple use cases, recommend checking them out) and then sending them through smartlead. I ran the campaign for the past 30 days and 12-15% emails always bounced. This wasted my email credits & chances of reaching…
