As a researcher, I created SmartXiv to solve a problem I faced every day: keeping up with the overwhelming number of research papers uploaded to arXiv. With over 1000 new papers each day, finding the most relevant research was time-consuming and exhausting. I needed a smarter way to stay updated. What SmartXiv Does • Personalized Recommendations: Using advanced AI, SmartXiv analyzes your interests and sends you daily emails with research papers that align with your preferences. •Efficient Research: By curating the latest papers for you, SmartXiv saves you hours of research. • Fully…

I’ve been frustrated with PDFs and found arXiv HTML lacking, so I built a fully interactive paper reader. Features: • Hover references, citations, equations • Light/dark mode • Auto-generated dependency graphs for definitions/lemmas/theorems • Table of contents that syncs with scroll • Highlighting + annotations • “Copy raw LaTeX” anywhere Featured paper: Video models are zero-shot learners and reasoners (Veo 3) https://www.sciencestack.ai/arxiv/2509.20328v2

I built this because I got tired of watching Claude Code read through massive files just to find a few functions. Sourcerer lets AI agents search code semantically and grab exactly the code chunks they need instead of burning tokens on whole files. It uses tree-sitter to parse your codebase and creates a searchable index. So instead of "read auth.py (538 lines)", an agent can search for "user authentication logic" and get back just the relevant functions. Hey everyone, I recently built a free Chrome extension called Formula to LaTeX that lets you convert any formula from an image, screenshot directly into clean LaTeX code. No signup. Just: 1. Paste or drag & drop an image of the formula 2. Get the LaTeX code instantly 3. Copy it with one click It works great for math, physics, and chemistry formulas, super helpful if you're working on problem sets, papers, or presentations and don’t want to retype complex equations. Would love any feedback! I'm still improving it, so feel free to roast it or share ideas

Hi there, I've created this side project to make it easier to find interesting repositories using AI. There's still a lot of work to be done to improve it, so any suggestions for enhancements would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hey HN! I'm one of the cofounders of Sourcebot, an open source alternative to Sourcegraph. Sourcebot lets you index thousands of repos across multiple platforms (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket), and gives you a powerful interface to search across them. You can learn more in our original HN launch post: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=41711032 We just added an AI code review agent that reviews your PRs and automatically detects issues that a human reviewer may have missed. We've been using an AI code review agent for a few weeks now, and it regularly catches issues that we…

Hi all, I find literature searches to be slow and despite all the tools nowadays, it is difficult to map out vast areas of research and then connect my ideas to what I’m trying to do (e.g. writing a review, learning something new, planning a new project, assignments, etc). Some of my peers and teachers also found this to be a problem so I built this MVP app to help people not only leverage AI search capabilities but also go on to connect their ideas, map out research projects, cite various results and organise their “stream of consciousness” as they work. I’d love to get some feedback on it…
