24 alternatives to Claude Code Routines
Put Claude Code tasks on autopilot with smart routines
Claude Code Routines enables engineering teams to automate coding tasks using Claude AI on Anthropic's infrastructure. The service runs automations triggered by schedules, API calls, or GitHub events to handle… Below are 24 products that do a similar job, ranked by how close each is in meaning and then by launch-day votes.

Claude Opus 4.7 is Anthropic's most capable generally available model, released April 16, 2026. It outperforms Opus 4.6, GPT-5.4, and Gemini 3.1 Pro on key benchmarks including agentic coding, multidisciplinary reasoning, scaled tool use, and agentic computer use. It is benchmarked below Claude Mythos Preview — which remains restricted to Project Glasswing partners. https://vucense.com/ai-intelligence/ai-tools/claude-opus-4-7...

1Code▲569Just to clarify the background a bit. This project wasn’t planned as a big standalone release at first. On January 16, Ollama added support for an Anthropic-compatible API, and I was curious how far this could be pushed in practice. I decided to try plugging local Ollama models directly into a Claude Code-style workflow and see if it would actually work end to end. Here is the release note from Ollama that made this possible: https://ollama.com/blog/claude Technically, what I do is pretty straightforward: - Detect which local models are available in Ollama. - When…

Hey HN. I built this because my Anthropic API bills were getting out of hand (spoiler: they remain high even with this, batch is not a magic bullet). I use Claude Code daily for software design and infra work (terraform, code reviews, docs). Many Terminal tabs, many questions. I realised some questions are ok to wait on and with that comes some cost savings. So here is a small MCP that lets you send work directly to Anthropic's Batch API from inside Claude Code, for the same quality responses just 50% cheaper, results come back in ~30min-1hr. How it works: you type /batch review this…

I built a lightweight project management workflow to keep AI-driven development organized. The problem was that context kept disappearing between tasks. With multiple Claude agents running in parallel, I’d lose track of specs, dependencies, and history. External PM tools didn’t help because syncing them with repos always created friction. The solution was to treat GitHub Issues as the database. The "system" is ~50 bash scripts and markdown configs that: - Brainstorm with you to create a markdown PRD, spins up an epic, and decomposes it into tasks and syncs them with GitHub issues - Track…

This project (Agents Observe) started as an exploration into building automation harnesses around claude code. I needed a way to see exactly what teams of agents were doing in realtime and to filter and search their output. A few interesting learnings from building and using this: - Claude code hooks are blocking - performance degrades rapidly if you have a lot of plugins that use hooks - Hooks provide a lot more useful info than OTEL data - Claude's jsonl files provide the full picture - Lifecycle management of MCP processes started by plugins is a bit kludgy at best The biggest takeaway is…

1. Headless mode Headless mode allows you to use the AI as a command-line utility for automation and scripting. In Claude Code you run it with the -p flag: claude -p, in codex - exec, opencode - run. 2. Ask human The traditional communication channel with the operator won't work in headless mode - we need to implement a dedicated tool. Here is an example of how this can be done https://github.com/sermakarevich/claude/tree/main/mcp/ask_hu... 3. Single-agent LLMs suck at long-running complex tasks. We’ve open-sourced a multi-agent orchestrator that we’ve been using to handle long-running LLM tasks. We found that single LLM agents tend to stall, loop, or generate non-compiling code, so we built a harness for agents to coordinate over shared context while work is in progress. How it works: 1. Orchestrator agent that manages task decomposition 2. Sub-agents for parallel work 3. Subscriptions to task state and progress 4. Real-time sharing of intermediate discoveries between agents We tested this on a Putnam-level math problem, but the…

Today I'm releasing Cloud Code: A way to prompt claude code from the cloud. It lets you select a repo, a template of messages (or you can create your own) and you can then create your queries which runs through claude code synchronously to complete your task. Our system is set up for long running tasks and is so new that it doesn't even support streaming yet, we just send the final message at the end of the run. To test its effectiveness, I used it to create the mobile view for the cloudcoding site itself which works really well, meaning you can use it through your phone!
