ClaudeUsageBar▲398Hey all! Like many of you, I've been using Claude daily and kept having a hidden fear: when my limit will be reached? How much I have consumed in this session? Im ending up going back and forth to settings > usage to check Literally every 5mns So I built ClaudeUsageBar, a minimal menu bar app that shows your Claude usage percentage at a glance. What it does: Shows your current session (5-hour) and weekly usage directly in the menu bar Notifies you at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 90% thresholds so you can pace yourself Displays exactly when your limits reset Works with both Free and Pro plans Privacy…

Usage4Claude▲109I kept hitting Claude's 5-hour limit without realizing it, so I made this menu bar app to track it. Shows a color-coded ring (green/orange/red) and countdown to reset. Built it in Swift/SwiftUI, just for myself initially. Right now you have to manually grab your sessionKey from browser DevTools, which is annoying but works. Stores it in macOS Keychain so it's secure. Been actively working on it, already at v1.3.0 with much better UX now. It's open source (MIT) and works with all Claude platforms (web/CLI/desktop/mobile) since they share the quota. Currently…

We needed something like --dangerously-skip-permissions that doesn’t nuke your untracked files, exfiltrate your keys, or install malware. Claude Code's permission system is allow-or-deny per tool, but that doesn’t really scale. Deleting some files is fine sometimes. And git checkout is sometimes not fine. Even when you curate permissions, 200 IQ Opus can find a way around it. Maintaining a deny list is a fool's errand. nah is a PreToolUse hook that classifies every tool call by what it actually does, using a deterministic classifier that runs in milliseconds. It maps commands to action types…

I made this for myself, and it seemed like it might be useful to others. I'd love some feedback, both on the threat model and the tool itself. I hope you find it useful! Backstory: I've been using many agents in parallel as I work on a somewhat ambitious financial analysis tool. I was juggling agents working on epics for the linear solver, the persistence layer, the front-end, and planning for the second-generation solver. I was losing my mind playing whack-a-mole with the permission prompts. YOLO mode felt so tempting. And yet. Then it occurred to me: what if YOLO mode isn't so bad?…

Viberia▲146Hey HN, This is my take on the agent harness. Everything on an isometric map. Agents are grouped into "buildings" that run in a sequence or a loop; e.g., the CodeForge has an agent that writes a PRD, another one that implements, and a third that reviews. Everything is customizable, you build your own buildings/teams however you want. It's a Tauri app, really light (about 8x less energy than the closest competitor I benchmarked, so it actually runs from a coffee shop on battery). It's macOS only for now, but ping me if you are willing to test the Windows or Linux version. I've been…

Built this over the weekend to bridge the gap between "can hum a melody" and "can code algorithmic music patterns" (Strudel/TidalCycles) for live coding and live dj'ing. What it does: Real-time pitch detection in browser using multiple algorithms: CREPE (deep learning model via TensorFlow.js) YIN (autocorrelation-based fundamental frequency estimation) FFT with harmonic product spectrum AMDF (average magnitude difference function) Outputs: visual piano roll, MIDI files, Strudel/TidalCycles code All client-side, nothing leaves your machine Why multiple algorithms: Different pitch…

Scapefree tier, from $9.99/mo▲59Hey HN, we've been using Claude Code daily for months, and built Scape to fix our biggest pain point: managing multiple worktrees quickly & reducing the mental load of switching between them quickly. What we built: Scape is a macOS menu bar app that sits on top of Claude Code and gives you: - One-click worktrees: click a button, get a new git worktree with a Claude session already working on it. Develop in parallel without leaving your current branch. - Toolkit: per-session actions like "Create PR", "Commit & Push", "Run & Fix Tests." Add your own with bash scripts or prompts. -…

We’ve been building visual rule engines (clear spreadsheet interfaces -> API endpoints that map incoming data to a large number of potential outcomes), and had the fun idea lately to see what happens when we use our decision table UI with Claude’s PreToolUse hook. The result is a surprisingly useful policy/gating layer– these tables let your team: - Write conditional, exception-friendly policies beyond globs/prefixes (e.g. allow rm -rf only in */node_modules/*, deny / or $HOME, ask if --force or network call; gate kubectl delete / SQL DROP with a clear reason) -…

I use Claude Code across multiple projects with different conventions and some shared repos just as it so happens to be the real world. Managing the config files (.claude/rules/, mcps.json, settings.json) by hand got tedious, so I built a local web UI for it. This one started out as claude-config but migrated to coder-config as I'm adding others (Gemini, AG, Codex, etc). Main features: - Visual editor for rules, permissions, and MCP servers - Project registry to switch between codebases - "Workstreams" to group related repos (frontend + API + shared libs) with shared context -…

Hi everyone, I'm a student from Flanders and I like to use Claude Code for my purposes, ideas and also just for fun and also make solutions for problems in our world!) So that's why I built "Pulse", it's an local application that you can easily install to your device and easily follow what your claude agent is doing right now in your terminal session with an ambiance design and easily give permissions for your agent. For those who wants to see directly how much tokens you spent, and how much the session costs, and approve tool calls from everywhere from your phone and everything runs locally…

I got frustrated with Claude's official platform limitations - conversations disappearing, no customization options, and clunky file handling. So I built my own interface over a weekend! GitHub: https://github.com/chihebnabil/claude-ui What it does: - Saves all conversations locally (SQLite + Drizzle ORM) - Lets you customize Claude's personality per chat - Handles file attachments properly + caching input tokens - Dark/light mode - No conversation limits - Markdown & code syntax highlighting Tech stack is pretty simple: - Nuxt 3 for the frontend - Anthropic's SDK…

Headroom▲19Hi HN! Frustrated with Claude Code usage limits I stumbled upon the awesome Headroom project by Tejas Chopra. After jumping through the hoops to install it, I realized the majority of devs don't necessarily use python and aren't comfortable just installing pip packages so I set out to create a Mac App wrapper with Tejas blessing. Here it is! What Headroom does: It sits between your editor and Claude, compressing what gets sent — trimming redundant context, stripping boilerplate, and compressing documents — without dropping anything semantically meaningful. The result is roughly 2x more usage…
