Hi all, I threw together a small prototype I am calling “Notepad.ai”. A new take on UIs for interacting with LLMs. While I enjoy using LLM’s in the chat format I wanted to see what it would be like to do it in a more long form style. It let’s you write in a pretty free form, much like Window’s Notepad, but you can choose to hit ctrl+[ to analyze the text with a preset prompt of your choosing. It has a few other small features. The first ever AI peer reviewed research article just got approved. It’s kinda crazy how advanced AI have come to replace researchers. I've just been using Deep Research on ChatGPT and Perplexity a lot to write and research complex technical reports for my boss. He loves the reports and it has decreased my workload a ton but I still have some frustrations with it. All LLM user interfaces I've seen so far are somewhat frustrating: * ChatGPT web requires a lot of copy-paste, it rewrites whole document even if you need to update a part of it, etc. * Github Copilot completions are rather unreliable and do not leave an option to specify what you want; Copilot's chat sidebar is little more than ChatGPT integrated into the IDE * Google Docs have right UI for non-code text, but they use really dumb model (not Gemini 1.5 Pro). I’ve been using this for my own workflow and friends suggested I share it with them so I quickly threw together my first chrome extension! As an ex-editor, I think chatGPT is overlooked as an editor with everyone jumping straight into writing. Editing is essentially giving it as comprehensive a writing prompt as possible. Playing with the actual prompt also gets you a wide range of different results that grammarly/other apps cant really do. Hi, We are building an open-source framework for loading and structuring LLM context to create accurate and explainable LLM answers using knowledge graphs and vector stores. Was getting annoyed copy-pasting stuff from websites into ChatGPT all the time, basically wished Cursor's CMD+K worked everywhere. So I built a little Chrome extension, InPageAI, that tries to do just that: https://inpageai.com Hit a shortcut on any page, it grabs the context automatically, and you can ask AI to summarize, explain, etc. You can also use it to write directly into input fields/text boxes.
