I was constantly googling CLI commands so I built this small CLI tool with GPT3. You can ask for shell commands right from the CLI. You'd need to use your own API KEY for this but it's pretty simple, instructions are in the README Not perfect but not bad either.

Hi Hacker news ! I’m Julien and I built an alternative CLI for Git : gut. Even if I haven’t been coding for a long time (I’m in the first year studying computer science), I’ve always found git to be frustrating. The command naming is inconsistent and git lets you easily shoot yourself in the foot. I made gut, another git porcelain, to solve these issues. It provides a consistent naming of command. To do so, syntax is based on subcommands. For example, to delete a branch, run gut branch rm rather than git branch -d, same to delete a remote (gut remote rm) and so on. Gut also prevents you from…

Last month, I started learning a Python TUI framework called Textual. After working on a 4x4 board game, I made an interactive app to test your CLI text processing skills with 40 beginner to intermediate level exercises. The app is fairly basic in terms of features — only single input file, so no stdin data, multiple files, etc. Most of the exercises in this app is based on my Computing from the Command Line ebook (https://learnbyexample.github.io/cli-computing/preface.html). I hope to improve the TUI app to support all the 200+ exercises sometime next year.

Onboard-CLI—a blazing-fast developer tool I built in Go. It uses AST parsing (Tree-sitter) to map out codebase architecture and automatically blocks spaghetti code and bad dependencies locally before you even commit. I heavily optimized the concurrency, so it can parse 50k+ files in under 10 seconds.

Giti▲7Hi HN, I built Giti, a command-line tool that converts plain English into actual Git commands using a fast, local language model (Qwen2.5-Coder, ~1 GB). Example: Input: giti "undo last commit" Output: git reset --soft HEAD~1 No internet required after setup. No API keys. You can also run it in an interactive shell to chain commands naturally. Key features: - Natural language to Git translation - Local LLM powered by Qwen2.5-Coder in GGUF format - Works fully offline after model download - Dry-run mode to preview commands before running - Interactive shell mode for session-based workflows -…
