24 alternatives to Confabulists – “Substack for Fiction”
Hey HN, I am launching a newsletter tool for those who write fiction: https://writer.confabulists.com This is the page focusing on convincing writers to sign up. It is a two-sided marketplace (writers and readers), but since I am just starting, there are no published writers yet -- who write in English at least. So if you write fiction of any genre, professionally or not, I invite you to try it. Confabulists is the culmination of several personal experiences. First, I am trying to start a new career as a fiction writer. Which is hard. It is one type of content or art creation still…

Greetings, creator here! I've been working on a new blogging platform specifically for lists on and off for a few months now and I'm excited to officially announce its launch. After seeing https://charm.sh a few months ago, I've been enamored by the idea of SSH apps. I decided that a blogging platform focused on developers could be the perfect use case for an SSH app. Also, I love writing lists. I think restricting writing to a set of lists can really help improve clarity in thought. The goal of this blogging platform is to make it simple to use the tools you love to write and…

Hey HN, sharing something I've been working on. I love reading new voices. I subscribe to a lot of brilliant newsletters but found it hard to keep track of all the great stuff I was reading. I'd read something, love it, never be able to find it again. And then, how do you find new ones worth trying? And which posts do you start with? With Inbox World, you can submit and upvote the best of Substack and other similar platforms. The goal is to build a community around the best independent writing out there. It's like HN for newsletters! This is a passion project for me and I'm not technical at…

SourcePilot▲158It’s been a while since I’ve started to write a book . The process of creation of it has not been easy , first because I’m not a writer , I’ve created well though out internet posts here and there, which ended up creating my first book. It was a good experience , but then I’ve started to think that a book that just gathered my thoughts online it’s not entirely “writing” a book , I needed more. And than I’ve opened google docs and start typing. Then I started to figure out what I wanted to write: should it be a fantasy story, a self-biography, or an observation of the world? I believe most…

for decades, i have been concerned that the internet was being built around non-fiction, so i built something to show how we could celebrate great fiction on the web. i started with an amazing library from the public domain, and i also added tools to add your own stories super interested to hear any feedback, and if you read anything good!
