Hi HN, As a developer, I much prefer to write code than read other people’s code. But most projects I work on involve other developers so it’s hard to avoid. Often I find it really hard to quickly parse other people’s code so I thought maybe ChatGPT could help. ChatGPT does a really nice job of giving clear explanations when you paste in code and ask it to explain it. But the interface is a bit of a pain to use if you’re using it many times a day. It’s also hard to share explanations with co-workers. So I built whatdoesthiscodedo.com. Just paste your code and get your ChatGPT explanation and…

I keep running in the same problem of each AI app “remembers” me in its own silo. ChatGPT knows my project details, Cursor forgets them, Claude starts from zero… so I end up re-explaining myself dozens of times a day across these apps. The deeper problem 1. Not portable – context is vendor-locked; nothing travels across tools. 2. Not relational – most memory systems store only the latest fact (“sticky notes”) with no history or provenance. 3. Not yours – your AI memory is sensitive first-party data, yet you have no control over where it lives or how it’s queried. Demo video:…

I wanted a very simple way to dump prompts, links, and todo lists into my claude code and codex agents. And to work outside of the context window. This works particularly well for sharing "Projects" between Claude/ChatGPT etc. It's open source here; https://github.com/Vochsel/dump.page Anything you dump on the board becomes an llms.txt - spatially sorted implicitly and explicity sorted via connection edges. Would love HN's thoughts!

Hi HN, I'm Kevin. I built ContextVault because I kept running into the same problem with AI tools. Every project accumulated prompts, coding conventions, architectural decisions, examples, and other pieces of context that made the models significantly more useful. The problem was that this information quickly became fragmented. Some lived in ChatGPT Projects, some in Claude, some in Markdown files, some in internal documentation, and some only existed in previous conversations. Late last year, I realized several people on our team were solving the same problems independently because previous…
