Products that do what Craftplan – I built my wife a production management tool for her bakery does

My wife was planning to open a micro-bakery. We looked at production management software and it was all either expensive or way too generic. The actual workflows for a small-batch manufacturer aren't that complex, so I built one and open-sourced it. Craftplan handles recipes (versioned BOMs with cost rollups), inventory (lot traceability, demand forecasting, allergen tracking), orders, production batch planning, and purchasing. Built with Elixir, Ash Framework, Phoenix LiveView, and PostgreSQL. Live demo: https://craftplan.fly.dev ([email protected] / Aa123123123123) GitHub:…

Hi HN, I'm Rafael Mauricio, the founder of RF Modern Bakery Design. For the last decade, I've worked with hundreds of talented bakers. The same frustrating pattern kept emerging: they had the culinary skills to build a successful business, but were completely blocked by the monumental task of designing their commercial kitchen. A brilliant baker shouldn't have to also become a construction manager, HVAC expert, and workflow engineer. The traditional process is a black hole of time and money—taking 3-6 months and $10,000+ in consulting fees just to get a viable floor plan. Most independent…

Hi HN, for the past few months, we’ve been working on Ferrix AI (https://ferrix.ai/) As AI agents speed up engineering, deciding what to build has become the bottleneck. Developers got faster because agents fit into their workflow: tech design, code review, testing. They still make the key decisions, while AI handles mechanical work around them. At Ferrix, we are automating workflow for product managers to make product decisions efficiently. Agents handle the research synthesis, spec writing, and progress tracking, while PMs, designers, and engineers collaborate in a shared…

For context, we started working on our general AI agent CraftBot before OpenClaw came out. It works similarly to OpenClaw and Hermes agent: control your PC to do task + memory + proactivity. However, here is the catch: it can create and operate its own SaaS tools with the concept of Living UI Living UI is a system where an AI agent can scaffold and launch real, working web apps on demand. Each living UI can be a dashboard/software/internal tool. They are essentially just frontend with X techstack talking to a backend + database with the techstack of your choice, spun up in its own…

We've recently made our product, ozma.io, open-source. It's a CRM/ERP platform for building enterprise systems. We believe that AI will soon handle implementing most of the boilerplate and UIs in the specialized business software. Just look at what lovable.dev does today! Soon products which make creating business software easier for developers will become obsolete, or transform into "libraries" to be used by AIs. We are losing this race, so we go the second route — publish everything and go on building other products on top of it. GitHub repo URL:…

Hi, I’m Chris and my partners and I are building Devplan, an AI product development tool that helps teams go from idea to working code faster. What Devplan does: - Creates deep contextual understanding from Github and the web with our open source context engine: https://github.com/devplaninc/contextify - Generates right-sized PRDs, user stories, and tech design based on company context - Gives a ballpark effort and complexity estimate for every user story - Breaks down requirements into structured coding prompts for tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, or JetBrains…

Hello everyone. I'm a relatively new developer and I started my first project to go full production recently. It is a directory of payment processors and payment service providers. It's free to use and gives detailed info on their pricing, business model, supported business types, available countries, prohibited businesses and high risk business support. So far only 40 have been added with more to come. And I allow processors to contact me so that they're details can be added to the database. I'll eventually automate this and add verification the months to come. I hope you'll find it useful.…

Heya HN, after spending +1 year building an ML-driven analytics product (that didn't pan out unfortunately), I've pivoted to solving a problem my team and I found while building the previous product … why the hell is it so hard to move a model from a Jupyter notebook, to a development server, then to a production pipeline!? To solve this my team and I started the open source KitOps project under the Apache 2 license. KitOps includes the Kit CLI that uses a Kitfile manifest to create ModelKits: 1. The kit CLI packages your model, datasets, code, and configuration into an OCI compliant…

Hi HN! I am excited to share Hadmean with you all for feedback and early adoption. What: Hadmean is an open-source, no-code internal tool generator. Why: Most internal tool generators make you build from the ground up i.e you get a blank canvas, drag and drop and wire components to satisfy your business requirement. This I believe has many problems. - They require some technical know-how. - They require some learning curve. - They require time to build and maintain. - You duplicate a lot of business logic already in your database. How: Hadmean attempts internal tool generation with a new…
