Products that do what Cube.js – Build Serverless Analytics does

Hi everyone! I want to share with you a serverless analytics framework - Cube.js: https://github.com/statsbotco/cubejs-client. I’m one of the authors and would love to hear your thoughts and feedback. Cube.js is an analytics layer for applications. It supplies building blocks to add analytics features into your application. It comes with caching, pre-aggregations and all other stuff you need to handle large data sets. We’re launching public beta today, with open-sourced React client and cloud hosted server. We’re planning to open source server as well, so it could be…

Hi HN, I'm Igor, a proud part of the team here at cube.dev. I'm excited to share some news about Cube, an open-source headless BI platform that now has almost universal connectivity to both upstream and downstream tools in the data pipeline: https://cube.dev/blog/expanded-bi-support If you're confused by "headless BI", there's a blog post to get you covered (https://cube.dev/blog/headless-bi), but the most concise and developer-friendly way to put it would be that Cube can connect to any data source that speaks SQL (from Postgres to BigQuery to…

Hi HN! Thanks for your attention to my post. It was a big challenge to run most of Node.js packages in browser, fast moreover. Virtual File system, resolve import/export. I got cold many times, depressions, burned out, yet still alive and finished it. Many guys helped me with an advice. Many users give a lot of positive feedback. There are 200,000 monthly unique users. I work full time now because of the freemium business model. To be honest - I am happy after many years of hard work.

You might know Cube as an open-source semantic layer (https://github.com/cube-js/cube). Started in 2018, now 19K+ stars, 1000+ releases. We kept hitting the same wall: everyone wants AI analytics, but AI without business context hallucinates. The fix is a semantic layer — a model that defines what "revenue" or "churn" actually means. But building one by hand takes weeks. So we built an AI agent that writes the semantic layer itself, then uses it to answer questions and build dashboards with no hallucinations. Connect your data → agent builds the model in seconds → ask…

I have created an open-source alternative to Mixpanel and will explain a bit about why I decided to do this. Mixpanel is a GREAT tool and quite easy to understand (compared to GA4 and similar). I have used Mixpanel extensively for one of my React Native apps, but the last invoice was $300, which was way over my budget. I think I was paying for MTU (monthly tracked users), which was around 7000-10k users. However, a downside of Mixpanel is that it is purely a product analytics tool; you don't get any basic web analytics similar to what GA4 or Plausible offers. Therefore, I have combined the…

Hi! One of the creators here. Very proud to finally be able to show you what we've been working on for over a year now. Curious to hear your thoughts! Objectiv is open-source (APLv2) product analytics infrastructure. It's built around a generic but strict event taxonomy, open/common data- and infra tools (currently PG, snowplow, working on bigquery with more to come), and the analyses are done using our pandas-like, SQL speaking modeling library called Bach. As a result, we’re moving towards a vision wherein models can be shared openly, independent of product, platform[1] or data…

Hi HN, As an indie hacker, the new Google Analytics (GA4) coming motivated me to look for a straightforward alternative that would also be affordable. I had a few basic product requirements and didn’t want to spend too much to replace a free product. There are a lot of great Google Analytics alternatives out there, but the pricing didn’t seem right. As someone who likes to just build things, many of which aren’t businesses yet, it didn’t make sense to pay for options like Plausible and Fathom out of the gate. So I joined with a friend to build Beam Analytics. Beam gives you all the standard…

TL;DR: dagger.js is a buildless, runtime-only micro-framework that plays nicely with native Web Components. It uses HTML-first directives (e.g. +click, +load) so you can ship a page by dropping a single from a CDN—no bundlers, no compile step. Why I built it Modern stacks are powerful but often heavy: bundlers, compile steps, framework DSLs, local CLIs. For internal tools, small apps, and edge/serverless deployments, I wanted something you can view-source, paste into a page, and ship. What it is: Runtime-only: no build or VDOM compile; hydrate behaviors directly on HTML. HTML…
