Hi! I build an MCP server that allows clients to play Minesweeper. It turns out that Claude is not very good at it (makes obvious mistakes, hasn't won a single game on a 9x9 board after many attempts). I am curious how I can prompt Claude to do better?

Hey HN! Halfway through moving to Canada and whilst my conversational French gets me by, I'm absolutely rubbish when someone rattles off phone numbers at full speed (quatre-vingt-dix-neuf anyone?). Hey HN, About twenty years ago, while I was in college, I first stumbled upon James Propp's Self-Referential Aptitude Test [1] and absolutely loved it. Ever since then, I've had this idea of turning that concept into a daily game, and I've finally built it: https://www.logiquiz.com/ The game interface checks each question against the answers you've given, so it doesn't spoil anything by giving away the answers. I had a lot of fun with this one. She's used it several times, and I watch, to see what subtle bugs or ux issues there may be. And when she gets on the bus I fix them quickly before work. It's been a fun game to create where it gives here immediate feedback and she's willing to study more. Her test is this Friday. fingers crossed that it helped her!

Hi Hackernews, I built a little Tetris-like game called Invisitris, where all but the last placed piece becomes invisible. The board becomes fully visible for a few seconds when you clear rows. And it also becomes visible when your stack becomes dangerously high. Try it and let me know what you think :)

Hi HN! In the last couple of weeks I've been working on Cranki: Cranki = Crosswords + Anki. (It's a stupid name tbh, haha) I like doing crosswords in Spanish (to learn vocab) but none of the apps out there allowed me to use my own list of words that I come across. So I built one instead. It's entirely client-side. No server, no database, no accounts, etc. Your words and stats are stored in local storage. I built this for myself but let me know if you like it!

Hi HN, I built AgenTank. It is a small game where an AI agent writes the logic for your tank. You watch it fight, give strategic feedback, let the agent update the tank code, and send it back into battle. I have run 1,000+ battles on my own tank and spent about $200 in Claude credits improving it. The part I enjoy most is not just winning, but watching the tank make visible mistakes, thinking of a better strategy, and seeing whether Claude can turn that into better code.
