Products that do what Davia – A community platform to build, share, and edit applications does
Hi HN! I'm Ruben, the founder of Davia (https://davia.ai/). Davia is a platform to build, edit and share applications, where builders get rewarded based on usage while users can discover and reuse any app's code to fit their own needs. The problem we're trying to solve: Today's AI coding platforms charge you upfront for creation - it's like paying per block modification in no-code solutions. This works for commercial projects because you're aiming to generate revenue that exceeds your creation costs, but doesn't fit the reality of side projects and community apps that builders…

Hi HN, We’re Ruben, Afnan, and Theo, and we’re building Davia to solve a common problem: documenting and explaining large codebases is complex. It takes too long to generate even a first draft of a wiki, visuals are essential to understand the structure, internal docs should be editable in the IDE, and most solutions aren’t open. Davia is an open source tool. You enter the path of your repo, and it generates a visual wiki you can explore and edit. Diagrams are created automatically, and you can update everything either in your IDE or in a Notion-like editor. The project is still early, and…

Hi HN, We’re Afnan, Theo and Ruben. We’re all ML engineers or data scientists, and we kept running into the same thing: we’d write useful Python functions, either for ourselves or internal tools, and then hit a wall when we wanted to share them as actual apps. We tried Streamlit and Gradio. They’re great to get something up quickly. But as soon as we needed more flexibility or something more polished, there wasn’t really a path forward. Rebuilding the frontend properly in React isn’t where we bring the most value. So we started building Davia. You keep your code in Python, decorate the…

Hi HN, We’re Ruben, Afnan, and Theo. A few days ago we shared the first early version of Davia, and the feedback was far more active than we expected. For context, you can see the previous discussion and reactions here: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=45880716 Based on that response, we decided to push things further and release Davia as a fully open-source package you can run locally. Davia helps coding agents generate a structured, editable internal wiki for your project. The focus is on high-level documentation: onboarding context, architectural overviews, key design…

Hey HN! After lots of dogfooding, we are now releasing Algora.io to help developers share bounties & easily meet new collaborators. The problem: early-stage founders always have more work than people, tight budgets and no time. Hiring full-time engineers is often not an option, yet most founders would welcome contributions from new collaborators. Meanwhile, most developers welcome flexible work. However, today, all of this is hard. Our solution: we built a Git GUI where you can pay developers and start collaborating with new ones, in just a few clicks. On Algora you can share, reward and…
