An honest to god, non-algorithmic reverse chrono list of tech news that passes my signal-to-noise tests, updated hourly. A lightweight a page design as I've been able to keep; simple, clean, fast. No commercial features or aspirations - this is a passion project, something I've been fooling around with on and off for decades. There's a "Top" view too with an LLM edited front page & summary, and categorized views for a large number of topics - see the Directory. A few more buried features to explore, but the fundamental use case is pop in, scan, exit - fast and concise. Your feedback would be…

I decided to build my own AI feeds reader since I wanted features I couldn't find, or at least not in the way I wanted to, for instance: - Filter news by interest/category - Cluster same story from different sources into one - Show short summary of each new so you can skip if it's not really that interesting to you - Track relevant AI figures, but not only their tweets and posts but also their appearences in articles and interviews I'm still tuning it and improving it everyday.

Hey folks! This is a project that I've been working in my free time for the past few months. It's a news aggregator that uses AI to select relevant articles and summarize them. The default sources are frameworks and libraries' updates, popular HN topics, and languages' subreddits threads that make past a certain threshold. You can run a local instance (needs an OpenAI key) and customize it with your own sources, and adjust the prompt as well. The resulting website can be browsed at https://dev-radar.com/ My next experiment will be with local news. I'm building some feeds with…

I got tired of reading clickbait articles and seeing irrelevant ads. So I pulled in a few RSS feeds to create a news digest using OpenAI 4o-mini for summarisation. Appreciate any feedback you'all might have. PS: News-summarisation may have been done to death, but I'm a UI noob, so I'm using this project to learn some.

This is the result of an 8 day final project for DBC Chicago. Our team scraped over 140,000 headlines of several news agencies stretching back several years. We then took those headlines and fed them through the AlchemyAPI sentiment analysis engine to assign each one a score. They were then plotted in a couple different ways using D3. This is far from perfect and even farther from scientific. It was done in 8 days by some passionate amateur developers. It was however a lot of fun and very interesting. You can read about it and the team in more detail on the repo page here:…

Hi HN, I made an AI-digested news platform called Tailored News to help people efficiently consume content in today’s information-overloaded world. Our platform uses AI to curate and summarize the most important stories, providing concise insights and weekly audio briefings. This approach ensures that you stay informed without feeling overwhelmed. Key Features: - AI-Digested Content: We use AI to summarize news, highlight key points, and generate an audio version - Full Context in a Nutshell: I created the Minimum Context Understanding (MCU) concept to provide brief context summaries for…

Former investigative reporter turned developer. I built a simple breaking-news monitor because tracking events across platforms is a mess now that Twitter’s unreliable. Bluesky is the backbone (a fraction of twitter, but still lots of journalists and OSINT folks), plus RSS, Telegram, Reddit, YouTube and Mastodon. Everything is one chronological feed with no algorithm, clear source labels, and lightweight activity detection when a region spikes above baseline (frequency math, not LLMs). But we do have a (hopefully non-obtrusive) AI-generated recent/post summary. Been building for a…

In today's world, catchy headlines and articles often distract readers from the facts and relevant information. Simply News is an attempt to cut through the fray and provide straightforward daily updates about what's actually happening. By coordinating multiple AI agents, Simply News processes sensationalist news articles and transforms them into a cohesive, news-focused podcast across many distinct topics every day. Each agent is responsible for a different part of this process. For example, we have agents which perform the following functions: The Sorter: Scans a vast array of news sources…

A01 is a news reader where you define your own algorithm in plain English. For example, you can prompt it with: • "I want to follow recent AI startups and their first funding rounds.” • "I want updates on regulation changes and enforcement actions around stablecoins.” Every few hours, the backend fetches new articles, embeds them, and scores each one against your prompt. Only the most relevant pieces show up. No engagement metrics, trending bait, or “you might also like” filler. I built this because I every time I opened up Twitter or LinkedIn to stay informed on something, but always ended…
