Products that do what Dbxlite – Query 100M+ rows in a browser tab, no install does

What started as a Claude Code experiment turned into a browser-native SQL workbench I now use daily. Runs DuckDB WASM entirely in your browser. No backend, no installation, no signup. - Query local files (CSV, Parquet, Excel) – data never leaves your machine - Handles 100M+ rows, 50GB+ files in a browser tab - Full UI: Monaco editor, schema explorer, spreadsheet-style results grid - Share SQL via URL – anyone can run your query instantly - BigQuery connector built-in (Snowflake coming) v0.2 – actively developing. Feedback welcome. GitHub (MIT):…

Repere lets you drop CSV/JSON/Parquet/XLSX files into your browser and immediately query them with full DuckDB SQL. Nothing gets uploaded, everything runs locally via DuckDB WASM. Unlike Excel and Google Sheet it can handles millions of rows easily. Features: - Filter, sort, join, pivot across multiple files Every transformation becomes a node in a visual pipeline (DAG) - Full undo/redo, real-time recomputation - Export results or replay pipelines on new files with the same schema - Works offline - Sparklines, themes and charts

Part of the workflow for building my website is the generation of a table in tab-separated column format (.tsv). The source data is found in four other .tsv files. I use an SQLite query to perform a 4-way join and write out the new table. For convenience, I wrote a script that encapsulates the query inside a Bash function. The example below illustrates this technique. repertoire() { pushd $CMM_SOURCES/_data sqlite3 <<EOS .headers on .mode tabs .import category.tsv category .import composition.tsv composition .import concert.tsv concert .import program.tsv program .once repertoire.tsv…

We’ve built SQLRooms, an open-source framework for creating single-node data analytics apps powered by DuckDB. It lets you build fully client-side, data-centric apps using React and DuckDB running in the browser (via WebAssembly) or in Electron. No server or backend is required — apps can work offline, preserve data privacy, and run queries on large datasets with sub-second performance. Features: - Query large datasets in browser with DuckDB (WASM) - Modular design for building composable data UIs (query editors, dashboards, notebooks, etc.) - Data privacy-preserving AI assistant that can…

I'm building a privacy focused analytics tool, using WebAssembly and DuckDB. You can upload your files (CSV, JSON and Parquet), and interact with them as where they a SQL Server. Your data never leaves your computer, however I do track page views and visitors using Plausible. The next steps are to add forecasting and segmentation, as well as some data visualisation capabilities. I would love to hear your opinion. Hi HN - For the past four months I've been working (part-time, this is OSS after all) on Harlequin, a SQL IDE for DuckDB that runs in your terminal. I built this because I work in Data, and I found myself often reaching for the DuckDB CLI to quickly query CSV or Parquet data, but then hitting a wall when using the DuckDB CLI as my queries got more complex and my result sets got larger. Harlequin is a drop-in replacement for the DuckDB CLI that runs in any terminal (even over SSH), but adds a browsable data catalog, full-powered text editor (with multiple buffer support), and a scrollable…

I'm a couple years late to the party but DuckDB is blowing my mind. I couldn't find an good embedded DuckDB stream processing solution so I hacked my own, calling it SQLFlow: https://github.com/turbolytics/sql-flow SQLFlow enables writing stream transformations in pure sql, executed using DuckDB. The goal was to create a lightweight, performant stream processing engine using pure SQL transformations, DuckDB didn't disappoint! I'd love your feedback, feature requests, impressions, or just comments. I'd love to turn this into a stable, usable project that people are…

Hi everyone, I'm a PhD student in databases at CMU. Over the past few months, I've been interning at Columnar and building a community extension for DuckDB that lets you query Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and any other system with an ADBC (Arrow Database Connectivity) driver. The extension supports querying ADBC databases directly through a read_adbc table function. It also supports using ATTACH to connect to an ADBC database and then running SELECT, INSERT, COPY, and CTAS statements as if the database were local to DuckDB. You can install it from DuckDB by running:…

Hi HN, I've built `goliteql`, a fast and lightweight GraphQL executor and code generator written in pure Go. It parses GraphQL schema and queries, validates them, and executes resolvers without using reflection. It also supports introspection and generates Go code from a GraphQL schema. Why I built it: - I wanted a fast, minimal alternative to gqlgen - Easy to embed in WASM or microservices - Focused on simplicity and performance (4x faster in benchmarks)

Hey all! I wrote Explorer[1] a good few years ago now with the dream of fast dataframes with a dplyr-like API in a really powerful, ergonomic language (Elixir). It's proved pretty successful. Explorer is used in production at my company, and it's my go-to for quick data analysis. But maintaining it became a true albatross. Polars is an amazing project, but the development process is fast and a lot is very focused on the Python lib. We found that trying to maintain Explorer against Polars was a maintenance nightmare and eventually hit points where we had to give up features and found it…

Hello HN, Wish you a very Happy New Year. StatPecker is our baby project. A cute little infographics generation tool for anybody seeking insights. We recently dropped a new feature, to help user upload CSV upto 50mb or in other words data with ~1 million rows. We wanted to make sure user data doesn’t get leaked, so we developed a mechanism where the CSV is analysed on user’s device. We only use our AI APIs to generate SQL queries on the fly and query the DB on user’s machine, along with the final response for aggregated data. The result turns out to be quite fast. Would love you to try it out.

I posted this a few weeks ago and the server died under the traffic. Fixed that by adding an in-mem caching layer with Redis/valkey and added CloudFront caching for static content. Also upgraded the server. Also fixed the Firefox bugs, trying again. It's a research tool for US stocks. Financials for ~10k companies pulled from SEC filings. You can chart any metric across companies, filter news by ticker, ask questions in plain English and get a chart back. There's also SQL console against the whole database, which is the part I like to use together with the AI chat (generates an SQL…

Yet another "talk to your data and build a dashboard" app, where data does not leave your browser. You ask a question, agents produce multiple SQL queries to in-browser sqlite, never seeing results, and write dashboard configuration code. The data you analyze will be indexed with a local semantic index (embeddings generation + sqlite vector search fully local). Next, sandboxed QuickJS runs this code to produce rich dashboards directly in your browser, no backend attached. This is a fully frontend app (except OpenRouter or other remote LLM). All data sent to LLM's is heavily sanitized and…
