24 alternatives to DemoSlice

Hi HN! I built DemoSlice after getting frustrated with enterprise demo tools that cost $20k-$50k/year. Most teams only use 40% of their features anyway. DemoSlice does one thing: turn screenshots into clickable product tours. No complex HTML capture, no training required, no expensive contracts. How it works: 1. Upload screenshots 2. Add clickable hotspots 3. Annotate with text bubbles 4. Share a public link Pricing is simple: Free plan (1 demo with watermark) or Pro at $19/month (unlimited, no watermark). Currently validating demand with a working prototype. Would love to hear…

Hey HN, I noticed there are 1,000+ MCP skills on GitHub with zero way for creators to charge for them. So I built Agent37. Selling Claude skills today means asking customers to download your skill, set up Claude Code on their laptops, configure MCP servers, and pray it works. No trial, no updates, often you're just handing over the source. Agent37 lets creators upload a skill, share a link, and anyone can try it instantly (no Claude account needed). Built-in Stripe, creators keep 80%. Looking for feedback on the approach. Would you use something like this?

Hey HN! I’ve created (co-created with my co-founder) a tool called demoshake that helps you build interactive demos and use them in your sales process. The idea is simple - you create as many demos as you want, group them and let your sales team use them in their demos calls. You can embed demos in your landing page (iframe style) too. I welcome any criticism and suggestions! Harun

I’m an indie dev, and every time I launch or ship anything, there’s this familiar mini-hell: “now I need to record a decent demo…” You probably know the drill: - install yet another screen recorder - mess with audio input / system audio - accidentally capture your messy tabs or notifications - re-record because you forgot to hide something sensitive - open a separate editor just to crop, zoom, or add a simple arrow After doing this a few too many times, I realized I was spending way more time fighting tools than making the actual demo. And most of my needs were pretty simple: short…

Hey HN, I'm a freelance web developer and got tired of the endless email chains during website QA. Clients would send screenshots with red circles, or worse, Word docs with "the button on the page with the thing." I'd spend more time decoding feedback than actually fixing stuff. So I built Commentblocks. You add a script to your staging site, send clients a link, and they click anywhere on the page to leave a comment. That's it. No signup for them, no explaining how to use it. Each comment captures the exact element, viewport size, browser, and URL. Comments show up in a dashboard or can go…

Hi everyone, I made this app Demo Scope lets you record or stream any mobile website with your face on screen and touch indicators showing every tap. I built it because I needed to demo my own side projects and hated the OBS/desktop setup. Load your site in the app, hit record, done. Or stream straight to Twitch/YouTube. Free to try: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/demo-scope/id6755395174 Would love feedback if anyone tries it. I made a landing site centered around mobile demos for professional projects, but my main use case honestly has been Twitch…

Just something I put together quickly: https://webcast.browserprotect.me/ I made this in one day, now I'm wondering if It's interesting enough to make it a real product (Add new features like setting the size, zoom, annotations, fix bugs, export, voice-over, etc..) Here is an example screencast I just did: https://webcast.browserprotect.me/view/2764aa94dcd855959819fd91881f0882baa61a0e-44646 Do you consider this a viable product? I'm thinking about offering it for free and then add some premium features.

Well, it's yet another screenshot-to-code tool. I use it daily. Of course, it sucks with complex designs, but it's still better than starting from scratch. It's a paid tool, but I've tried to be fair with the pricing at $9/month. However, I understand that times are tough. If you really want to keep using the tool and can't afford the $9, I get it. Just sign up and comment with your email, and I'll gift you three months of premium for free.

I’ve always found it funny how simple feedback widgets end up as $20–$30/month products. The tech is dead simple, infra is cheap, and most of us here could rebuild one in a weekend. So as a “principle experiment” I built my own today as a side project and priced it at 1 dollar. Just because if something is cheap to run and easy to replicate, it should be priced accordingly, and it’s also fun marketing. 1$ feedback tool. Shipped today, got the first users/moneys today, writing this post today. Side Sunday project, then back to the main product tomorrow.

Hi HN, I'm Matt, one of the engineers behind DemoFly! We built DemoFly because we got tired of the gap between building features and showing them to people. Our team has been doing full-stack engineering for over a decade (most recently building Rownd, an authentication platform) and the one thing that never got easier was making demo videos. You finish a feature, you know it works, but showing it to someone means opening a screen recorder, figuring out what to say, re-recording when you stumble. So the demo just...doesn't happen. DemoFly is a CLI tool. You point it at whatever you're…

I was looking for a tool to create interactive demos / walkthroughs for web based software. I was amazed that many companies charge well over $1000 per month for something pretty basic. I made this which so far works well for me. You can point it at a site and either let AI (byo OpenAI or Anthropic keys) record and polish the whole thing or do it manually yourself (or a mixture of both). Here is an example interactive demo: https://runnit.io/demos/i-want-you-to-create-a-demo-of-from-... Disclaimer: This is a tool which works for me and may work for you, it's not…
