This is an ncdu clone written in Rust that I figured others might find useful! The main things that differentiate it from ncdu are: - It's very fast. In my benchmarks it's often twice as fast. - It allows you to send files to trash rather than permanently delete. Please try it out and lmk if I can improve on anything!

"dut" is a disk usage calculator that I wrote a couple months ago in C. It is multi-threaded, making it one of the fastest such programs. It beats normal "du" in all cases, and beats all other similar programs when Linux's caches are warm (so, not on the first run). I wrote "dut" as a challenge to beat similar programs that I used a lot, namely pdu[1] and dust[2]. GUI disk analyzers are great for figuring out what's filling up your laptop/desktop drive. On containers or remote servers, the options are limited to purely text based utilities (e.g. du) or list-centric TUIs (e.g. ncdu) which are usually limited to viewing one directory at a time. I don't know Rust. Friday after work I realised that 90% of my IDE time now is just the commit/diff view — and even good IDEs feel heavy for that. So over the weekend I built a dedicated native tool for just that. Kyde is a macOS git commit + diff editor with one goal: be fast, do Git well. I'm curious whether anyone else mostly opens their IDE for git operations these days. It's open source, and there's a signed app in Releases.

CacheFS keeps a lazy local copy of your network drive in an attempt to make your network drive appear as fast as your local drive.
