PokerBench is my attempt at a new LLM benchmark wherein frontier models play Texas Hold'em in an arena setting. It also features a simulator to view individual games and observe how the different models reason about poker strategy. For the past year my friend and I have been building a dead simple offline poker app that we actually wanted to spend time in. No constant pop-ups. No account needed. No waiting for tables. No fake felt or neon. Just free poker against intelligent AI opponents with helpful in-game stats. We’ve started offline, but are working towards online-multiplayer, tutorials for new players, and more in-game stats. Would love your feedback!

Hi HN, I built the first version of Drawize back in late 2016 specifically for a Samsung Tizen OS app contest. I crunched and built the whole thing (including the real-time multiplayer engine) in under 4 weeks. It didn’t win anything in the contest. Since it was built with web tech anyway, I published it on the open web in early 2017 just to see what would happen. It started living its own life, and today — 8 years later — the database processed the 100,000,000th drawing. my motivation - i was looking for some CLI games to play when the agent is working and this idea came into my head. this was when fable was available for 3 days, so seemed like a good use of tokens to try and build this out. spent some time polishing to finally get this out. the public matchmaking connects you on a first come first serve basis to anyone else in the world. there is a bot that will connect in-case a match is not found for 45 seconds. games last about 5-10 minutes (tournament style fast paced). and each game impacts your rating (glicko-2). so they're quite nice for idle time…
