Products that do what Early version of trading simulator game. Would love your feedback does
We're two software geeks trying to build our own trading simulator app for beginners which could teach some basics of technical analysis and won't be too boring. You can join the early test program here if interested: https://threeinvesteers.com/ Do you think this is a decent idea? So far we've solved the main technical challenges and built a solid backend solution for real-time prices, and also got the first feedback regarding the concept from some early users. We've polished the idea slightly using the feedback but still have some open questions. Would be great to hear your…

I built this simulator to study how simple trading agents interacting with an order book can create emergent patterns—volatility, clustering, even chaos—without any external shocks. It’s meant as both a research toy and teaching tool. You can run different strategies, adjust configs, and watch dynamics evolve. Curious to hear feedback from the HN crowd on features/dynamics you’d like to see added.

Hi HN, A while ago I had a mildly depressing realization. Back in 2010, I had around $60k. Like a "responsible" person, I used it as a down payment on an apartment. Recently, out of curiosity, I calculated what would have happened if I had instead put that money into NVIDIA stock. I should probably add some context. For over 10 years I've worked as a developer on trading platforms and financial infrastructure. I made a rule for myself - never trade on the market. In 2015, when Bitcoin traded about 300 usd, my brother and I were talking about whether it was a bubble. He made a bold claim that…

We have been experimenting with using GPT3's reasoning capabilities to build an investment analyst that does this : (1) Summarize relevant news of the last 30 days, (2) Write a SWOT analysis, (3) Identify competitors, (4) Identify Key Risks, and (5) Write three investment theses (bull, neutral, bear) Here is an example how this can look like: https://app.finclout.io/tp/MSFT https://app.finclout.io/tp/LYFT https://app.finclout.io/tp/AAPL https://app.finclout.io/tp/UBER So far, the results of getting reliable data…

Hello HN. I built my own automated Bitcoin trading bot and noticed that many others want to do the same thing, but lack the coding skills required for the harder stuff, like order execution and backtesting. I like the idea of making automated trading more accessible to existing day traders as well as newcomers. Hopefully this will also inspire some people to learn to code. We’re currently in private beta, but please check out the site below. Feedback is more than welcome. http://tradewave.net
