Each morning at 9:30 AM EST, the AIs analyze market data and make real trades with $5 stakes. Technical Implementation: - Next.js frontend with real-time updates - Node.js/Lambda backend for AI processing - PostgreSQL for trade tracking - Alpaca API for automated trading - Consistent prompts for all models Data Flow: 1. Daily market analysis (9:30 AM EST) 2. Each AI gets identical inputs: - Financial headlines - Market summaries - Technical indicators - Earnings reports 3. AIs provide: - Stock picks with reasoning - Entry/exit conditions - Risk assessment 4. Automated trade execution Note: This is an experiment in AI behavior, not investment advice. The goal is to study how different LLMs interpret financial data and make decisions with real consequences. I'll be around to answer questions about the implementation.

- RTRead the Tape – Wordle for daytrading, five blind S&P 500 charts a dayJul 2026 · readthetape.cc · ▲70
Read the Tape gives players the same 5 S&P500 stock charts per day to predict. You select low, medium or high confidence and then call the chart UP or DOWN. It's a 1d chart which then resolves over 5 days. Alpha is scored against the Monkey Index, a basket of 11 random coin flips at low confidence which provides a tangible win/lose condition. We're two weeks in and some interesting data is being kicked up. Players like to call tops even though stonks go up- 60% of the 70 charts so far resolve higher, players' down calls have only been right 31% of the time. There's a full stats dive at…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…
