Easyto builds an EC2 AMI from a container image. It creates a temporary EC2 AMI build instance with an EBS volume attached. The EBS volume is partitioned and formatted, and the container image layers are written to the main partition. Then a Linux kernel, bootloader, and custom init and utilities are added. Hi HN, I built a small tool called oci2git, which converts OCI container images into Git repositories. Each layer in the container image becomes a separate Git commit. I created it to make it easier to inspect and reason about container image contents. Instead of dealing with compressed tarballs or running docker diff, you can just browse the resulting Git repo, run git diff, use git blame, or even bisect layers. Capsule started as a basic HTTP server to teach myself Rust. Then I kept going, and it turned into the first full-stack thing I've fully shipped: a Rust/Axum server, a Rust CLI, an Android app (my first, same story as the Rust one), and a fully featured web UI. Frustrated with the apparent lack of tools for tagging and describing images locally, I built a quick and dirty little tool. You start it up, start up llama-server, and point it at a directory of photos. It scans through them, captioning them one at a time, and provides the captions and tags in an editable interface for you. When you're happy with them, you can save them, which writes them to the exif metadata of the image, and moves onto the next one
