Hi HN! I’m Alex from Parabola (https://parabola.io). Parabola is a visual programming tool for creating functional data flows that everyone can use. It’s entirely drag-and-drop, handles data sizes much larger than a traditional spreadsheet, calculates everything live, and can run your flows on a schedule of your choosing. I used to work in strategy consulting, doing data analytics for SMBs and Fortune 500 companies. The amount of time wasted on menial tasks was astounding. Things like cleaning data, generating custom reports, creating human workflows to solve shortcomings in third…

Hello HN, I’m excited to share something we’ve been working on: Cloud Troubleshooting Labs. This tool provides on-demand environments for engineers to practice hands-on troubleshooting with AWS, GCP, Azure, and Kubernetes. What it does: We use Pulumi to spin up these environments. Each scenario includes a diagram and an explanation of the available IT infrastructure. Engineers are tasked with fixing configuration issues to make the application work. Depending on the test type, the environment could range from a simple terminal to a full cloud environment or a web-based VSCode. Many of our…

AI agents now have impressive reasoning capabilities. This raises an important question: how dangerous are these AI agents at identifying & exploiting web vulnerabilities? We created CVE-bench to find out (I'm one contributor of 16). To our knowledge CVE-bench is the first benchmark using real-world web vulnerabilities to evaluate AI agents' cyberattack capabilities. We included 40 CVEs from NIST's database, focusing on critical-severity vulnerability (CVSS > 9.0). To properly evaluate agents’ attacks, we built isolated environments with containerization and identified 8 common attack…

Security Insights offers the following features: Kubernetes configuration checks, to ensure your cluster is configured according to best practices for pods and workloads. Users are provided with details on individual checks and resources through CAST AI’s user interface. Vulnerability scans, which offer an overview of potential issues that might appear due to container images downloaded from public registries. Round-the-clock…

As a long-time developer, I participated in many integration projects and we always had a recurring problem: monitoring and sending integration error alerts to end users. Based on 10 years and hundreds of projects, I created a platform that helps solve this, with several accelerators and cool stuff for developers. Some feedback would be great, if the tool makes sense and what we could improve on.

Hey HN! We built a tool that uses eBPF to discover AI services and their data flows in Kubernetes clusters. Modern AI apps often follow this pattern: 1. Service receives request 2. Queries database (PostgreSQL/Redis/MongoDB) 3. Sends data to LLM API (OpenAI/Anthropic/Bedrock) 4. Consumes or returns the AI generated response Security teams often don't know: - Which services are making AI calls - What databases they're accessing first - Whether PII is being sent to third-party APIs - What libraries and packages are being used for AI Our eBPF based tool attaches to network…
