Products that do what FormML – A DSL for building complex web forms does
Hi everyone! I wrote a DSL (named Form Modeling Language) for modeling & building complex forms and am glad to share it with you now. Over the years, I’ve encountered many challenges while building complex forms from scratch—challenges that I believe are common, difficult, and yet often overlooked. These include managing interdependent fields, handling intricate validation rules, and maintain good collaboration between technical and non-technical people. FormML is my attempt to address these pain points. The project's README goes into more detail, but in short, FormML offers a model-first…

Hey HN. Over the last half a year I have been working on a 3D CAD programming language called DSLCAD. Today I am here to show my first release! It is heavily inspired by OpenSCAD which got me hooked on the idea of a CAD programming language and what it can do. Please let me know what you think. Ill be in the thread to answer any questions you may have.

Hey HN, I'm a solopreneur and run a web design agency. I create open-source apps, but I also work as a freelancer and designer. I was accepting any new freelance project via forms on my agency website. I was using Typeform, but as time went by and more people submitted forms, it got more and more expensive. That time, I thought to use Google Form, but it was way too blocky and looked very unprofessional on my agency website. So I thought to build my own forms for my own usage, and it turns out it almost doubled form submissions and inquiry calls. I was happy, so I thought to build it for…

We’re Robin, Louis, and Thomas. Pipelex is a DSL and a Python runtime for repeatable AI workflows. Think Dockerfile/SQL for multi-step LLM pipelines: you declare steps and interfaces; any model/provider can fill them. Why this instead of yet another workflow builder? - Declarative, not glue code: you state what to do; the runtime figures out how. - Agent-first: each step carries natural-language context (purpose, inputs/outputs with meaning) so LLMs can follow, audit, and optimize. Our MCP server enables agents to run pipelines but also to build new pipelines on demand. - Open…

We're a team of three friends who have been working with forms and Open Source for a decade, and we joined forces together to create something where we can apply all of our experience. We recently released GolemUI, an Open Source library to generate forms dynamically from JSON definitions, with a typed layer to simplify authoring. This library has a lot to offer. These are the main characteristics: 1. A JSON engine. The form is governed by a JSON definition that you can store in a DB, version, diff, or generate it with LLMs as a validated JSON. 2. We provide also 28 headless components (and…

We developed a new framework that enables flexible control of generated text in language models. By combining several models and/or system prompts in one mathematical formula, it lets you tweak your style and combine model outputs with ease. A handy tool for those working with LLMs, looking for more fine-grained control of stylistic output. More details in our paper: https://arxiv.org/abs/2311.14479. Feedback and potential applications are welcome.

Hey HN! We just launched PromptL: a templating language built to simplify writing complex prompts for LLMs like GPT-4 and Claude. Why PromptL? Creating dynamic prompts for LLMs can get tricky, even with standardized APIs that use lists of messages and settings. While these formats are consistent, building complex interactions with custom logic or branching paths can quickly become repetitive and hard to manage as prompts grow. PromptL steps in to make this simple. It allows you to define and manage LLM conversations in a readable, single-file format, with support for control flow and…

Hey HN, First time submitter here. After a FOSS related interaction required me to use Google Forms 9 months, I wondered on why no such FOSS tool existed and decided to build it myself. I aimed the site to be for people like me, so no telemetry and minimal JS was the goal. I know this is rather small and incomplete compared to other projects but I've thought you folk might be interested. Not sure if it breaks the pure part, but the site also uses Flask. If you're lucky, you might find the app alive at: https://formie.div72.xyz.

Hey HN! We just released a new library for building LLM-powered applications: @axflow/models. It is part of a larger suite of libraries we're developing for TypeScript developers working with generative AI. This library provides the simplest APIs for 1) invoking the most popular LLM and embedding models (openai, anthropic, cohere, huggingface, etc.) 2) streaming LLM responses to clients, including augmenting the streams with additional arbitrary data and 3) building client-side applications with React hooks. @axflow/models has zero dependencies and is built using only the…

Knit was created to solve pains of other LLM playgrounds. Some of the highlights: - Smart prompt builder, create prompt with simple requirement and few shot learning, fast and effortlessly. - Function call simulation, visualize the function callings and you can also setup a mocked value to return. - Support OpenAI/Anthropic/Azure models. - Manage prompts with projects and members. - And so much more! I have been developing Knit by myself for over 4 months now, and am looking for ways to improve it. Any feedback is appreciated.
