Datadog for free-tier limits — alerts before the cliff

I've been working on this for some time now, starting with vm2, then deno-core for 2 years, and recently rewrote it on rusty_v8 with Claude's help. OpenWorkers lets you run untrusted JS in V8 isolates on your own infrastructure. Same DX as Cloudflare Workers, no vendor lock-in. What works today: fetch, KV, Postgres bindings, S3/R2, cron scheduling, crypto.subtle. Self-hosting is a single docker-compose file + Postgres. Would love feedback on the architecture and what feature you'd want next.

I run 3mins.news (https://3mins.news), an AI news aggregator built entirely on Cloudflare Workers. The backend has 10+ cron triggers running every few minutes: RSS fetching, article clustering, LLM calls, email delivery. The problem: Workers Paid Plan has hard monthly limits (10M requests, 1M KV writes, 1M queue ops, etc.). There's no built-in "pause when you hit the limit", CF just starts billing overages. KV writes cost $5/M over the cap, so a retry loop bug can get expensive fast. AWS has Budget Alerts, but those are passive notifications, by the time you read the email,…

I've been building a lot of landing pages and small sites lately, and i wanted analytics on them. Google analytics was the obvious first option, but i didn't want it for privacy reasons. Also, some privacy blockers block them. Plausible was the next best thing, but having a VPS for sites which that doesn't get too much traffic, felt too much. So i built Edgemetry. Its a worker, a bit of frontend, and a D1 database. Everything runs in Cloudflare's free tier. If you've got a site that doesn't get ton of traffic but you still wnat to see your visitors and their actions, give it a go.

Hi HN, I've been using Cloudflare for my work for a while now and getting to the dashboard has been a pickle. After adding the 8th page to my bookmarks, I realised it wasn't tenable. I noodled around with the idea and came up with this. Now I reach the page I want very quickly. The app is free to use for a single account, and a one time $50 purchase unlocks everything else - multiple accounts + customization.

Hi HN, I'm Mohammed, a technical founder who loves shipping and giving back to the community. I'm open-sourcing the full-stack engine that powers my B2B product, apflow.co. What it is: A production B2B starter with a Go backend and Next.js frontend. Both are fully Dockerized with separate containers. No Vercel. No Supabase. Deploy the whole thing on a $6 VPS, or split frontend and backend across different providers. You own the infrastructure. The problem I was solving: Every SaaS starter I evaluated had the same issue: they locked me into someone else's platform. Vercel for hosting.…

This is an educational reference implementation showing how to build reasonably secure, standards-compliant authentication from first principles on Cloudflare Workers. Stack: Hono, Turso (libSQL), PBKDF2-SHA384 + normalization + common-password checks, JWT access + refresh tokens with revocation support, HTTP-only SameSite cookies, device tracking. It's deliberately minimal — no OAuth, no passkeys, no magic links, no rate limiting — because the goal is clarity and auditability. I wrote it mainly to deeply understand edge-runtime auth constraints and to have a clean Apache-2.0 example that…

Hey HN – We’re Danny and Ethan from Telophase (https://telophase.dev). We’re building automation to isolate cloud environments by tenant or team. You can think of us as an Open-Source AWS Control Tower[1]. Our CLI is a drop-in tool to manage multi-account AWS setups. To start, we support AWS Account Factory and landing zones defined in AWS CDK. We plan to support multi-project GCP and multi-subscription Azure setups soon! Features: 1. Manage accounts in code. 2. Provision accounts and their infrastructure with a single command, `telophase deploy`. 3. Deploy to a subset of accounts…

Inspired by the recent justfuckingusetailwind.com, I built a similar "love letter" to the Cloudflare ecosystem. I find myself reaching for Workers, R2, D1, and KV for almost every project lately, so I wanted to capture that sentiment in a single, slightly over-the-top page. It’s a simple side project, but the stack is: - Vite + TypeScript - Biome + Ultracite - Deployed (obviously) on Cloudflare First draft in Claude, the copy was drafted with Grok to get that specific tone, then I used Google's AI Studio to accelerate the build with touch up's in Cursor. Hey HN, I built Server Compass because I got tired of two extremes: paying $200+/month to Vercel/Railway for a polished deploy experience, or wrestling with self-hosted panels (Coolify, CapRover, Dokploy) that eat up half my VPS resources just to run their dashboard. The core idea: A GUI SSH client that gives you Vercel-like deployment UX on your own VPS. Nothing gets installed on your server except your apps – every command runs over SSH from your desktop. What it does: - 1-click deploys from GitHub repos or 160+ pre-built templates (Postgres, WordPress, Ghost, Supabase, n8n,…
