Sup HN, So I got tired of bouncing between Flightradar, MarineTraffic, and Twitter every time something kicked off globally, so I wrote a dashboard to aggregate it all locally. It’s called Shadowbroker. I’ll admit I leaned way too hard into the "movie hacker" aesthetic for the UI, but the actual pipeline underneath is real. It pulls commercial/military ADS-B, the AIS WebSocket stream (about 25,000+ ships), N2YO satellite telemetry, and GDELT conflict data into a single MapLibre instance. Getting this to run without melting my browser was the hardest part. I'm running this on a laptop…

Anthropic and OpenAI's publicly available models are explicitly guard-railed so that they refuse offensive tasks. And their cyber-focussed models are gated for enterprises. This leaves SMEs and mid market open to major vulnerabilities. AI can be used as both an adversarial and defensive tool in the world of cyber. A worst case outcome is if only the adversaries have access. Meanwhile, most existing AI cyber tools are just wrappers. The problem is that they still have all the guardrails on from the foundation model where they will inherit its refusals. For this project we've post-trained a…

I built sensor fusion for a mobile robot and reached for robot_localization like everyone does. After spending too long fighting navsat_transform, UTM zone boundaries, and YAML covariance tuning, I wrote my own. FusionCore is a 22 state UKF that fuses IMU, wheel encoders, and GPS in ECEF directly (no coordinate projection, no extra node). It estimates IMU bias, adapts its noise covariance automatically from the innovation sequence, and gates outliers with a chi squared test on every sensor. I benchmarked it against robot_localization EKF on 6 sequences from the NCLT public dataset…

Hello everyone, Vikas & Magus here. We are building Fusion (https://www.fusionhq.co), an open-source all-in-one user analytics and engagement platform somewhat similar to CleverTap & Sprig (UserLeap). It is built upon a simplified low-code mixpanel-like analytics engine with built-in live-chat, push-notification and email/micro-surveys. Fusion shows how your users interact with your web based products eg: page-views, button clicks, form submissions etc. But apart from this, Fusion lets you engage with a specific user or group of users who have something in common or perform a…

Hi HN, I’m the creator of Cordum. I’ve been working in DevOps and infrastructure for years (currently in the fintech/security space), and as I started playing with AI agents, I noticed a scary pattern. Most "safety" mechanisms rely on system prompts ("Please don't do X") or flimsy Python logic inside the agent itself. If we treat agents as autonomous employees, giving them root access and hoping they listen to instructions felt insane to me. I wanted a way to enforce hard constraints that the LLM cannot override, no matter how "jailbroken" it gets. So I built Cordum. It’s an open-source…

TL;DR: we built a framework-agnostic agent runtime that uses gVisor for isolation and runs on k8s. It’s open-source under AGPLv3 Recently we’ve been working on a customer support “AI assistant” - essentially an interactive knowledge base/L1 support but with an option to touch resources that belong to a customer it’s talking to. We found existing tools to be lacking in these aspects: 1. Fully intercepted i/o. We wanted to trace out LLM calls as well as any other networking calls attempted by the harness so that guardrails and audit trails apply to all current and future systems…

Hello HN, my name is Varun, and I am the co-founder of StepSecurity. Here is the backstory about Harden-Runner. We thoroughly researched past software supply chain security incidents. The devastating breaches of SolarWinds, Codecov, and others, have one thing in common – they attacked the CI/ CD pipeline or the build server. These incidents made it clear that a purpose-built security agent was needed for CI/ CD. While there are numerous agents available for desktops and servers, such as from CrowdStrike and Lacework, none have been tailored specifically to address the unique risks…

Every once in a while, I hear developers complain about how working with ROS2 frustrates them, or students who find the barriers to understanding ROS2 too high. Undoubtedly, ROS2 was originally designed in the lab for the prototyping phase. However, being widely adopted has turned its design into a messy blob that is not only "thick" - and not in a good way - but also too tangled. Therefore, I came up with the design for HORUS -Hybrid Optimized Robotics Unified System. At first, I was just experimenting to see whether building a system that respects both the versions and dependencies of…
