I've recently been working with real-time geoJSON data at a rate of 50+ queries per second. SaaS solutions can be prohibitively expensive at this rate, thus, I created go-reverse-geo. Data is pulled from geonames.org and is stored in MongoDB (a requirement of my current project). It is very much a work-in-progress (I wrote it this morning). Hope someone finds it useful. https://paranoia.dev/vivi/go-reverse-geo

Hi y'all, Made this game as a side-project a while back, figure some of you might enjoy it. Idea came while playing GeoGuessr (as you might have guessed). Artifacts are from the MET API, which is fantastic and well worth exploring for personal projects if you're into that sort of thing. I'm also working on adding 3D artifacts as in here: https://artifactguesser.com/artifacts/66880eb60da993fab0ffff... (warning, that page isn't super mobile friendly, but you'll get the idea). Shameless plug, if you think what I built is neat, I am a fullstack dev looking work, you can…

Hello HN! We're the team behind Epistemeland (https://epistemeland.com/), a platform dedicated to making learning fun and accessible. We've just released a prototype of a single player game that uses basic geometry. It is a fist, but an important step in creating our MMO game to revolutionize education. The game mechanics are simple but intriguing and naturally incorporated in the game process. We built it with UE5 and want to continue development. We'd love for you to try it out and give us your feedback, which we'll use to guide our next improvement cycle. Our goal is to…

I built TraceAIO, an open-source tool that prompts LLMs on your behalf and tells you whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini mention your brand — and which competitors and sources show up instead. Yeah, this category smells a bit like a grift, same as early SEO. And I think over time it will become just SEO again, and become about good content. The tool just helps you monitor over time. It queries the browser products through real browser sessions, not APIs, runs on Docker, with an MCP server so you can query your own data through an LLM. No business model, Apache 2.0, self hosted. If you…

I love culture + travel, and one of my favorite pastimes is dropping into random streets on Google Street View. I just LOVE getting a tiny snippet into how people live, the architecture, and discovering hidden corners of places I'll probably never visit. I'm kinda weird like that. When AI came along, I started asking it to explain what I was looking at - and I learned a ton. I couldn't stop using this combo. So I built Streetwhip. It's kinda like reverse Geoguessr - instead of guessing where you are, you get educated about places as if you had a smart local guide with you. What used to be…

I found myself jumping between ChatGPT, tabs, and docs, but never building real understanding. This is my attempt at fixing that — for researchers, curious readers, and lifelong learners. Would love your thoughts on the interface, and whether this would be useful in your own work or otherwise.
