ChatIDE is a sort of a DIY Github copilot X. Launch ChatIDE with a `Cmd + Shift + i`. You bring your own OpenAI api key. You can set the system prompt, temperature, and max tokens in the extension settings. I work on the OpenZiti project and I have a CI server that accepts GitHub webhooks, but I don't want to expose my server to the internet with open ports. I used the Python SDK for OpenZiti (overlay networking platform) to create a GitHub Action that sends the webhook to my private server via overlay instead of via the open internet. I built this as a small side project to learn and experiment, and I ended up with this! I used a subdomain from my personal portfolio, and everything else runs on free tiers. The project uses Nuxt, SVG, Cloudflare Workers, D1 (SQL), KV, Terraform, and some agentic coding with OpenAI Codex and Claude Code. What started as a joke among friends turned into a fun excuse to build something end to end, from zero to production, and to explore a few things I’d never touched before.
