Go# brings Go-style concurrency patterns to C#. It provides developers with goroutine-like constructs and channel-based communication mechanisms within the C# ecosystem. The tool targets C# programmers who want to… Below are 24 products that do a similar job, ranked by how close each is in meaning and then by launch-day votes. Hey HN, I’m sharing ts-chan, an NPM package providing Go-like concurrency primitives, including channels and select statements, for TypeScript and JavaScript, supporting Node.js, Deno, Bun, and browsers. This is something I've built to make implementing Go-style "control loops" feasible in JavaScript, but there are many possible applications. Highlights: - Features a FIFO processing Chan class and versatile Select class for concurrency control. - Supports buffered channel and channel close semantics very close to Go's. - TypeScript-first implementation. - Defines a simple "channel protocol"…

Let-go is a Clojure-like language (~90% compatible with JVM Clojure) written in pure Go. It ships as a ~10MB static binary and cold boots in ~7ms - that's about 50x faster than JVM and 3x faster than Babashka. It has decent throughput on algorithmic workloads - within ballpark of the GraalVM-backed sci. I started this project in 2021 as an elaborate practical joke: I wanted to have an excuse for writing Clojure while pretending to write Go. Jokes aside, it turned out to be pretty decent: it feels like real Clojure, it has an nREPL server (supported in Calva, CIDER, etc.), it's easily…

No gc, No goroutines, Produces small binaries while using the unmodified official go toolchain, and comes with complete Web SDK (generated from w3c/webref). We are building `pcz` to provide a reimagination of Go the language, in an effort to make it suitable for all kinds of programming tasks, and currently you can use it to build efficient web applications in Go using the generated Web SDK (as shown with the live web demo[1]). The journey is just starting, any suggestions? or any critics? [1]: https://primecitizens.github.io/livedemos/10-plat-web/

I think there's many classes of application (particularly legacy architecture) that can benefit from these kinds of analysis tooling. My next post will be about composing all these together, an exciting project I call…

Hi HN! During the last few years, I worked on a few applications built with Go, running on AWS Lambda. As I got to know the platform better, I started to find Go & Lambda to be a really productive combination. The applications were fast, and they ended up being much cheaper to run than what my team & I had built before. It’s probably not the best platform for _every_ application, but I was surprised at how much of our workload worked well on it. As we brought new engineers on to our team and helped them get up to speed with the stack, I found that we were covering a lot of the same topics…

I spent the past 2 weeks making this toy programming language. I basically forked the Go scanner/parser, and changed the syntax to have functions return a single value. This enable proper Result/Option type to be used as well as propagating errors with an operator. I also wanted to have short "type inferred" anonymous functions to be able to use functions like Map/Reduce/Filter, without having to use 100 characters to specify the types.

I'm relatively new to Go, but recently got interested in how MCP servers work. I started thinking about what the architecture of such a project might look like, and decided to build a minimalist version as an experiment. I based it on my past experience writing regular REST API servers and figured it might be useful or interesting to others as well.

A brief overview: 1. Workflows steps share a running context, with access to data they need require. 2. Steps in the workflow (builders) are chained together based on a topologically sorted built from the predefined input & output. 3. No servers spin up (like Conductor/Cadence) - the orchestrator is low level and meant for simplifying business logic. 4. Before/After listeners for each step. Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback!
