Hi HN! I've been building Dayflow, a macOS app that automatically tracks what you're actually working on (not just which apps you have open). Here's what it does: - It creates a semantic timeline of your day; - It does it by understanding the content on your screen (with local or cloud VLMs); - This allows you to see exactly where your time went without any manual logging. Traditional time trackers tell you "3 hours in Chrome" which is not very helpful. Dayflow actually understands if you're reading documentation, debugging code, or scrolling HN. Instead of "Chrome: 3 hours", you get…

I love the sunlight and dread the long, dark winter evenings of Northern Europe. I often look up sunrise / sunset times and count off the days until the darkness is gone. Now I've written a terminal app for this (Mac/Linux) Features: a colorful summary of daylight times for your location; projected change over the coming days; handles NO_COLOR and a ---short flag if you dislike the output format. The location is IP-based but you can override this if you're on a VPN. Just create a terminal alias with the --loc flag. The app supports areas in the arctic / antarctic circle too.…

I kept trying to explain how important outdoor light is and how most people aren’t getting enough. Eventually I figured that showing is more effective than telling. So we built a free app that uses your Apple Watch or iPhone to automatically track your light exposure throughout the day. It tells you if you’re getting enough, shows you how consistent you are, and rewards habits that support hormone balance. It's in beta on TestFlight, let me know what you think!

I created this app to accurately calculate light windows like Golden hour, blue hour, etc. for a particular city/location. It helps you plan your photography time by knowing the exact time and direction of sun. It uses swiss ephemeris on the backend to calculate all the path and timings for most accurate data. It also has a 3D view of the sun's path on any day and at any point of the day for the location. Looking at the sun's direction and angle can help you plan your shoot correctly. It is a simple app with no sign-in needed or any ads. Hopefully it helps folks out there. Open to…
