24 alternatives to Goxe 19k Logs/S on an I5
Hi HN, I built goxe, a tool designed to tackle one of the most annoying (and expensive) problems in infrastructure: log spam. When a service starts failing, it often floods your pipeline with thousands of identical log lines. This doesn't just create noise; it increases bandwidth usage and inflates storage costs in platforms like Datadog or Splunk. Goxe sits in your pipeline (currently via Syslog/UDP), normalizes incoming logs by stripping timestamps and variable noise, and aggregates them in real-time. Instead of 10,000 lines of the same error, you get one line with an occurrence…

We built Gonzo to make log analysis faster and friendlier in the terminal. Think of it like k9s for logs — a TUI that can ingest JSON, text, or OpenTelemetry (OTLP) logs, highlight and boil up patterns, and even run AI models locally or via API to summarize logs. We’re still iterating, so ideas and contributions are welcome!

superlog▲497Hey HN, we’re Nico and Arseniy, co-founders of Superlog (https://superlog.sh). We're building a self-installing, self healing observability tool meant not to be opened. It has a wizard that daily sets up proper logging and an agent that investigates errors and opens PRs. Super short demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFhU9Mk247M. In our earlier startups, we tried Sentry, Datadog, Grafana, Dash0, and nothing was good enough. Proper telemetry and alerting still requires a ton of manual setup. We struggled with adding good logs, so debugging was tough, especially as…

Hi everyone, I recently published a small open-source project. It’s a minimal network packet analyzer written in Go — designed more like a learning toy than a replacement for Wireshark. It currently supports parsing basic protocols like TLS, DNS, and HTTP, and includes a tiny fuzzing engine to test payload responses. You can inspect raw packet content directly from the terminal. The output is colored for readability, and the code structure is kept simple and clear. The entire program is very small — just about 400 lines of Go code. I know it’s not anywhere near Wireshark’s level, and I still…

Every data pipeline job I had to tackle required quite a few components to set up: - One tool to ingest data - Another one to transform it - If you wanted to run Python, set up an orchestrator - If you need to check the data, a data quality tool Let alone this being hard to set up and taking time, it is also pretty high-maintenance. I had to do a lot of infra work, and while this being billable hours for me I didn’t enjoy the work at all. For some parts of it, there were nice solutions like dbt, but in the end for an end-to-end workflow, it didn’t work. That’s why I decided to build an…

Or more precisely, my little site maker... It is a personal tool that I thoroughly enjoyed making, and enjoy using to write my website . A caveat before any more; nobody was supposed to promote this insanity. Like, terrible things have been done involving inotify and xdotool. But. It showed up on HN some months ago. That too while it was still, shall we say, fermenting. It got "done" some time thence, and of course one could not let the half-past just be. So here we are, for better or worse. Thank you HN mods for helping me repost! _\\// The README explains all, animated GIFs and…

I've created a powerful tool to help Go developers uncover the hidden giants in their compiled binaries. Go Size Analyzer is like an X-ray machine for your Go executables, revealing: Which dependencies are eating up your binary size Unexpected bloat from standard library or vendor packages Size changes between binary versions with a visual diff Key features that set it apart: Interactive treemap visualizations (check out the demo: https://gsa.zxilly.dev) Slick terminal UI for deep diving into package hierarchies Cross-platform support (works on Linux, macOS, and Windows binaries)…

Hey guys, I'm building erlog to try and solve problems with logging. While trying to add logs to my application, I couldn't find any lightweight log platform which was easy to set up without adding tons of dependencies to my code, or configuring 10,000 files. ErLog is just a simple go web server which batch inserts json logs into an sqlite3 server. Through tuning sqlite3 and batching inserts, I find I can get around 8k log insertions/sec which is fast enough for small projects. This is just an MVP, and I plan to add more features once I talk to users. If anyone has any problems with…

I wanted to build a persistent message queue based on SQLite, because that's what I'm using for my main state anyway. This gives me ACID across state and messaging, which is nice! I've been inspired by the terminology of AWS SQS for this, but it's obviously much simpler. Maybe you can use it too. :)

I've done this same println debugging thing so many times, along with some sed/awk stuff to figure out which call was causing the issue. Now it's a small Go package. With some `runtime.Callers` I can usually find the spot by just swapping the existing Mutex or RWMutex for this one. Sometimes I switch the mu.Lock() defer mu.Unlock() with the LockFunc/RLockFunc to get more detail defer mu.LockFunc()() I almost always initialize it with `deadlog.New(deadlog.WithTrace(1))` and that's plenty. Not the most polished library, but it's not supposed to land in any commit, just a temporary…

Hi HN, I built this because I got tired of the Claude Code CLI hiding details from me. Recent updates have replaced critical output with summaries like "Read 3 files" or "Edited 2 files". To see what actually happened, I was forced to use `--verbose`, which floods the terminal with unreadable JSON and system prompts. I wanted a middle ground: *Full observability without the noise.* `claude-devtools` is a local Electron app that tails the session logs in `~/.claude/` to reconstruct the execution trace in real-time. *Unlike wrappers, it solves the visibility gap in your native…
