Hello fellow hackers, we made a site that gets GPT to answer your question using the info on a webpage you specify or document you upload (e.g., a large textbook .pdf file). Background: When ChatGPT came out, I had the idea of having it pull answers from my stereo receiver's annoyingly dense 32 page manual. My weekend project prototype proceeded to surprise with great answers—just like what we've all experienced by now. My co-founder thought we should productize it, and make it easy to use online. I built this using semantic search and the ChatGPT API, which was just released the other day. What makes it special is it not only understands the code you're debugging, but also pulls in additional context like relevant documentation to help answer your questions and suggest code changes. Ultimately, my goal is to take the hassle out of pasting error messages into Google, finding a vaguely related StackOverflow post, and manually integrating the solution into your code.

Just for fun I decided to see if I could use chatGPT to solve NYT Connections word puzzles. It uses a pretty straightforward BFS search in which the LLM is first prompted to generate several possible groupings of four related words, and then a different prompt is used to evaluate the soundness of each of those groupings. This approach seems to be able to produce the correct solution somewhat less than half the time. I’ve been using this for my own workflow and friends suggested I share it with them so I quickly threw together my first chrome extension! As an ex-editor, I think chatGPT is overlooked as an editor with everyone jumping straight into writing. Editing is essentially giving it as comprehensive a writing prompt as possible.
