24 alternatives to Hacn – a React “monad” implemented using F#/Fable
A "monad" or DSL for creating React components using Fable and F# computation expressions - pj/hacn
Hacn is a React monad implementation built with F# and compiled to JavaScript via Fable. It provides a functional programming approach to managing state and side effects in React applications. The project is designed… Below are 24 products that do a similar job, ranked by how close each is in meaning and then by launch-day votes. 21st.dev▲1,211I originally built this app to organize and reuse interesting React + Tailwind components I came across on Twitter, inspired by the shadcn/ui approach. Later, a friend started contributing their own components, and it got me thinking—this could grow into something bigger, like an NPM for design engineers to share and use components. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Basecoat ports the upcoming shadcn/ui v4 [1] to plain HTML + Tailwind (no React): - Live demo & documentation: https://basecoatui.com - MIT‑licensed and free: https://github.com/hunvreus/basecoat/ - Works with any backend (Flask, Django, Rails, PHP, etc.) or static site. - Fully theme‑compatible with shadcn/ui [2]. - Uses a sliver of Alpine.js only for a few interactive bits (e.g. combobox). Swap in your own JS if you prefer. - Dead simple to use, just drop in a class here and there: Click me Why I built it: after moving from a Next.js stack back…

Author here. This is an attempt to simplify frontend development: 1. Standards first: User interfaces should be assembled with HTML, styled with CSS, and enhanced with JavaScript. 2. Less abstractions: UI composition should be easy and require as few idioms and abstractions as possible, both on client and server. 3. Design Systems: Design should be a separate subsystem, easily accessible for developers who care about and understand design. 4. Scalability: Complex UIs should retain simplicity as the application grows. Eager to hear your thoughts!

I've been building a web UI library for a side project of mine. I thought it might be useful to others, so I'm releasing it as open source. To put it simply, I realized that most of my pain points with React come from its declarative model ui=f(state). So I'm trying something that I'm calling "imperative JSX." Instead of treating JSX as the source of truth for your UI, it essentially becomes a query interface for DOM manipulation. I first had the idea for it a few months ago, and only began writing it in earnest last week, so it's extremely early and nowhere near production-ready. Still, I'd…

What if Brainfuck was less like C and more like Scheme? The interpreter implemetation is pretty bad. It's not very fast, it's not very good, and it's probably not very correct. But maybe there's some vaguely interesting programs you could write with it! For example, the Y combinator: λf. (λx. f (x x)) (λx. f (x x)) is written as: \` \`1 `0 0 \`1 `0 0

This absurd project started when I read a couple of blog posts that got very popular around here about solving the N queens puzzle using only Haskell's type system and TypeScript's type system. I figured I could implement Peano arithmetic using only TypeScript's type system. Turns out this have been done several times before, but I did it anyway. While working on it, I realized that you could emulate functions with conditional recursive types, writing them in a way that strongly resembles the equations that can be found in some functional programming languages. So I thought I could write a…
