Hi, I made a bridge (https://github.com/fzyzcjy/flutter_rust_bridge v2.0.0) between Flutter and Rust, which auto translates syntaxes like arbitrary types, &mut, async, traits, results, closure (callback), lifetimes, etc. The goal is to make a bridge between the two, seamlessly as if working in one single language. Then, as an example, I showed how to write Rust applications with GUI by utilizing Flutter. That is discussed in the link in details. To play with it, please visit the GitHub repo, or refer to the end of the article for detailed folders and commands. When I…

Kotlin Money▲427Manipulating monetary amounts is a common computing chore. However, no mainstream language has a first-class data type for representing money, it’s up to programmers to code abstractions for it. This isn’t an issue per se until dealing with rounding issues from operations like installment payments (e.g., buy now, pay later), foreign exchange, or even simple things like fee processing and tax collection. Inspired by my days at N26 Brasil dealing with these challenges, I introduce Money: a Kotlin library that makes monetary calculations and allocations easy.

Hey HN. Eric Seidel here (former lead of Flutter & Dart at Google, prev. YC S06). I founded Flutter and led the team for almost a decade. One of the constant questions we got was would we support code push like the web/react native: https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/14330 I left Google about a year ago and set out to build a company around Flutter and decided to start with code push. It took us a year to build. We had to build a new toolchain for Dart and a custom interpreter (for store compliance). But it works! Our beta has already been used by…

This proof-of-concept project combines: - Flutter, from Google; - ClojureDart, port of Clojure to Dart from Tensegritics; and - Matrix, a reactive framework from moi. So, yes, we can now program Flutter with a Lisp. Yay. Project includes dozens of working examples and a full implementation of the TodoMVC classic to help tire-kickers play around. Support installing freely available on the #matrix channel on the Clojurians Slack.

Hi HN! I’m Dillon, the founder of Celest (https://celest.dev). Celest is a backend-as-a-service that lets you build full-stack Flutter and Dart apps without leaving your IDE. There’s a short demo video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Evs1f0zHpzk At AWS, I built the Amplify Flutter framework and saw the extraordinary power (and complexity) the modern cloud presents. I wore many hats in that role, but the hat I most disliked was devops. I just wanted to write my business logic and have it work. As a Flutter developer, I love writing Dart, and I want to use it…

Backend APIs often grow into large orchestration classes full of duplicated calls and manual concurrency. I’ve been working on Mosaic, a Kotlin framework that composes responses out of small, request-scoped “tiles.” Each tile runs once per request, dependencies resolve automatically, and independent tiles execute in parallel without boilerplate. It’s still early (v0.2.0), but working today for caching, concurrency, and testability. Curious to hear feedback on the approach. Hello everyone :) Recently, my team (at VirtusLab) released an experimental support for Kotlin in Pulumi. This means you can use a convenient DSL to deploy stuff to your cloud (see examples in the repository). Getting started guide should be enough for you to use this in a toy project :). This is a proof of concept, so we would really love to hear your feedback before moving on. Please have a look at the "Giving feedback" section of the README.md.
