hue.tools was created after spending way to much time trying to find the right tools when working with colors. It's an attempt to create a simple but useful toolbox for common color related tasks and problems. While it's in no way perfect or provides the tools for every use case, it has served me well in the last few months and I hope it will be useful for some of you as well.

Hi HN, I’m Emil, the maker behind Palette. I’ve been tinkering with AI and colorization for about five years. This is my latest colorization model. It’s a text-based AI colorizer, so you can edit the colorizations with natural language. To make it easier to use, I also automatically create captions and generate filters. Hey, I built https://ShadcnThemer.com - a web app for creating and sharing themes for shadcn/ui, made with my some of my favorites, Next.js 15, Tailwind CSS 4, Drizzle ORM, and Supabase. The goal was to make it easy to visually design shadcn color themes, preview them live across various example UIs, and export them straight into your projects (as CSS or via the shadcn CLI registry command).
