24 alternatives to I built a tool to auto-tailor resumes to job posts
Hi HN, I got frustrated with the time-consuming process of tailoring resumes and cover letters for job applications. Even using ChatGPT, it was taking me about 10 minutes per application just to prompt and copy-paste everything into Word. I found myself only customizing applications for roles I was really excited about, which wasn't ideal. So I worked really hard and built useResume to solve two problems: helping me stand out with every application, and eliminating the Word document workflow. I've been using it myself for all my latest applications and I hope it can help you too. I'd love to…

LockedIn▲192The idea is actually quite simple - as a coder watching my pregnant girlfriend spend hours reading job descriptions and researching companies while job searching over the past few months, I thought there should be an app that reads the job description and researches the company like a human would from a job URL to write personalized cover letters + resume tips to modify your resume. So I made one - it uses advanced browser automation (like Manus), and you can actually watch the AI in real-time as it researches. For anyone interested, you can check it out at --> trylockedin.app and let me…

Here’s what it does: Customizes resumes in seconds based on job descriptions. Optimizes for ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems) to ensure resumes actually get seen. Simplifies the entire application process, saving me hours of work. Returns a pdf of the updated resume I made with latex and is keyword rich and no fluff.

RankResume▲14I’m excited to share my second SaaS project, RankResume (https://rankresume.io), following my first launch, IdeaPulse (https://ideapulse.io). As a job seeker, I was frustrated by the constant need to tweak my resume for each application to get past ATS filters and to land the first phone screen. I built RankResume to tackle that problem by letting you upload your resume and provide a job description or URL which it then generates a tailored resume and cover letter that highlights the most relevant skills and keywords for that specific opportunity. I built this out of…

Introducing my new AI-powered tool that generates personalized cover letters in seconds! It's powered by GPT-3 and all you need to do is upload the job post and your resume, and the tool uses the language model to analyze and match the keywords and requirements from the job post with your skills and experience. The generated letter can be further customized, and you can create multiple letters quickly and easily. It's still pretty bare-bones so I'm thinking of ways to make this better. I'd appreciate any feedback! Let me know what you think.

ApplyMate▲21Hi HN, as my side project, I created a resume builder that customizes your resume for each job application. When searching for a job, I used to modify my resume for each job description to make sure recruiters (or tracking systems) have better time aligning my experience with requirements for that job. Turned out many people don’t really do this. It’s not the only thing that matters, but I do believe it helps stand out among other candidates. The app does a few simple things, but saves a ton of time on manual work: 1. Compares your resume to the target job descripion. 2. Removes all the…

I was laid of from a YC company last November and during my job search I got this idea to build an extension that would help me apply to jobs a lot faster. 2 months later, InstaApply was born. The extension really makes applying to jobs super easy. Usually, it takes applying to dozens of jobs to land something and requires filling out the same data over and over again. Which is pretty annoying. This is where InstaApply comes in, it automates all the boring parts of applying to jobs with Ai, condensing the process to just seconds. InstaApply will fill out all the form fields, tailor your…
