Products that do what I hacked together an app that lets you charge anywhere in the US does
Hi HN, Long time reader, first time poster. The EV charging infrastructure in the US is quite a mess (unlike the EU), where we have very few roaming options and the apps suck to use. Have been spending the past year building a native Swift app which lets you charge with over 7 networks, and it's really easy to use. I've seen a lot of threads on HN on this topic so thought I'd share it here :) iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/porta-charge/id6449201933 Sorry that it's not on Android yet... I made a web app for the time being, which lets you start a charge from…

Nissan's official mobile app for their LEAF electric car doesn't have a widget for quickly checking the car's battery charge status on your phone's home screen, so for a fun side project I decided to make my own using free tools like GitHub Actions, Appium, Tailscale, and Apple Shortcuts.

I actually started it June 2011 to learn iOS, launched it in September, and have been steadily adding features and making improvements. It's something I use every day and I hope other people find it useful. Enjoy!

Hi, Creator here. I'm sort of reposting the same thing from about 208 days ago. The first version kinda sucked. I guess this is my first lean not-really-a startup experience. The new version is much better. http://thehorcrux.com/why-i-built-horcrux-app/ Let me know what you think, Here are some promo codes: 97HNR6HW4EPH K9R7KTWPTJJ6 WPM3MK4WXNHY 3P7N9RNPF4M4 3N49NP9P7TR6 Cheers, Suhas Sharma

Last week I decided to have a go at building a location based app, using native APIs for both android and iphone, but using a webview to display the content. It came together pretty well I think, still waiting for the ios app store to approve or reject the app. The app sends messages to anyone within 100 metres of you: http://herenow.nolanconsul.com/ I blogged a bit about it here: http://bennolan.com/2014/05/27/herenow-retrospective.html

Hey HN! I'm Dris, I'm 17, and for the past few months, I've been solo-developing Parkt, an app that lets you quickly reserve or sell parking spots. Parking sucks - it's expensive, hard to find, and you usually overpay or get a ticket. With Parkt, you can reserve parking in 2 taps, or list your unused space in under 5 minutes. It's now free to download on iOS (with Android coming soon)! You can also check out a demo on the site if you're interested. If you know someone who might use Parkt, sharing the app would be super helpful! Feedback is also appreciated.

Hello HN, A year ago, I started the journey to create what we call a Switchless eSIM for travelers. The problem we’re solving comes from first-hand experience with accessing data while traveling overseas. The old methods like swapping SIMs, paying high roaming fees, or relying on WiFi are inconvenient and costly. Our solution is a single eSIM that you install once, then buy data for any country you travel to, and get connected instantly. Our app will be live in the next few days (hopefully), so for now, it’s just web. I would love to know if you’ve used eSIMs when travelling overseas and…

Hi everyone, after months of hard-working, I'm glad to have something to show HN. It's an iOS app to help you directly capture and intercept HTTP/HTTPS Traffic from your iPhone/iPad with ease. It's suitable for any developers who would debug iOS without needing a computer. You can also share all traffic to Proxyman macOS via AirDrop for better previewing. - Please join a beta in TestFlight (iOS 14+): https://testflight.apple.com/join/nQ69eb35 - How it works if you don't have any devices: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpzpoTN8efM&feature=youtu.be…
