24 alternatives to J-RAY
Hi HN, I shared a very early prototype of this a couple of days ago, but I spent the weekend completely rewriting the core to make it 100% client-side, privacy-first, and open-source. Like many of you, I deal with large, deeply nested JSON payloads from APIs daily. I’ve always felt uneasy pasting sensitive production data or API keys into random online JSON formatters that probably log everything. So I built J-RAY to solve this for myself. It parses JSON and turns it into an interactive node graph using React Flow. Some technical details: Zero Server Processing: It’s fully client-side. No…

After two years of improvement, I think it's time to share it with you all. Here’s a quick overview: - Common features include validation, formatting, minification, and more. - Visualize JSON in a graph or table view. - Structured comparison with fallback to text comparison. - Navigate though JSON using JSON pointer. - Supports jq. Would love to hear the community's questions, thoughts and comments!

Many JS libraries exist to build graphs on the web (Vega, chartJS, Plotly...). They allow to make charts quickly. But you lose flexibility: you're limited by the options they offer. I just created a gallery with hundreds of graphs made with d3.js and React. - Examples are split by graph types - They all come with explanation and code sandboxes - Gradual complexity to ease the learning curve It took me ages to create this project! Feedback welcome!

I've been building a web UI library for a side project of mine. I thought it might be useful to others, so I'm releasing it as open source. To put it simply, I realized that most of my pain points with React come from its declarative model ui=f(state). So I'm trying something that I'm calling "imperative JSX." Instead of treating JSX as the source of truth for your UI, it essentially becomes a query interface for DOM manipulation. I first had the idea for it a few months ago, and only began writing it in earnest last week, so it's extremely early and nowhere near production-ready. Still, I'd…

Tooly▲5I kept opening online JSON formatters and getting buried in ads and popups. So I made a clean version with a few tools I actually use daily – JSON formatter with syntax highlighting, Base64 encoder/decoder, JWT decoder, text diff, and timestamp converter. Everything runs client-side. No tracking, no server calls, no signup walls. Built with React 19 and TypeScript. It's open source: https://github.com/chken007/tooly My 5-year-old helped name it. She insisted on "Tooly" and I couldn't argue with that logic. Open to feedback – especially if you spot bugs or have…

JSONBason▲15I've been at it again, just sharing my simple JSON data inspection tool, love webdev and single page apps, this one took 4 days and was a lot of fun. The code is not obfuscated so you can inspect it and see how it works (very simple, server side is even more simple) Pretty much just do a POST of your JSON data from within your code and it will convert it into a basic table for instant search and sort. Made with love for the fun of it, no ads, no paid anything, it's totally free. Please only send in sanitized/test data only, this is meant to help make webdev a bit easier and more fun.…

Hi HN, I’ve always been frustrated by "utility" websites that force you to upload sensitive JSON, JWTs, or proprietary code to mystery servers just to format or decode them. Most of the top-ranked tools on Google are essentially data-collection honeypots for ads. I built DevUtility Hub to be a professional-grade, browser-native workbench that operates on a Zero-Knowledge principle. The Architecture: 150+ Professional Tools: From standard JSON/Base64 to 2026-frontier tools like the MCP Protocol Inspector, ZKP Privacy Playground, and Agentic Workflow Visualizers. 100% Client-Side:…
