J-RAY

Hi HN, I shared a very early prototype of this a couple of days ago, but I spent the weekend completely rewriting the core to make it 100% client-side, privacy-first, and open-source. Like many of you, I deal with large, deeply nested JSON payloads from APIs daily. I’ve always felt uneasy pasting sensitive production data or API keys into random online JSON formatters that probably log everything. So I built J-RAY to solve this for myself. It parses JSON and turns it into an interactive node graph using React Flow. Some technical details: Zero Server Processing: It’s fully client-side. No…

What it does

J-RAY is a client-side JSON visualizer built for privacy. Your data never leaves your browser. Features: Visual Two-Way Binding: Edit node values to update raw JSON code. TS Generator: Get TypeScript interfaces in one click. High-Res Export: SVG/PNG for docs. Zen Mode: Immersive data exploration. No login walls or tracking. Just a fast, local utility for debugging complex API payloads and configs

Tame the chaos of your data. A privacy-first JSON visualizer with instant client-side rendering and 0 trackers.

In the maker’s words, at launch

I deal with massive JSON APIs daily and got tired of pasting sensitive payloads into random cloud formatters. So I built J-RAY. It runs 100% locally in your browser (0 trackers, data never leaves your machine) and transforms chaotic JSON into an interactive neural graph to make debugging easier. Built with React and…

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

  • Hello my name is Ben Ward for the past 3 years I have been remastering the financial game Wall Street Raider created by Michael Jenkins originally on DOS in 1986. It has been a rough journey but I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just recently redid the website and thought maybe the full story of how this project came to be would interest you all. Thank you for reading.
