24 alternatives to JetCaller
Hi HN, I built Jetcaller (https://jetcaller.com ), a simple web app for making international calls directly from the browser — no installs or SIM. Built it after getting tired of clunky international calling setups while working remotely. I intentionally kept it minimal and shipped early instead of overbuilding. It’s live and very early. Would love feedback on usefulness, or anything that feels unnecessary. Happy to answer questions. — Sankar

I built Voklit because I was tired of paying $2+/min to call banks and airlines overseas. Needed a US number that works anywhere with actual affordable rates. It's a web-based VoIP service (mobile apps coming soon). You get a real US phone number, pay-as-you-go minutes on top of a small subscription that covers the infrastructure. Bootstrapped, solo founder. Built with [Go/Next.js/ and Websockets] if anyone's curious about the stack. Adding more countries soon. Happy to answer questions or hear feedback.

ZippCall▲136You may have heard Microsoft is closing down Skype in a month: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=43202052#43202881 As someone originally from the UK who spends a significant amount of time in Morocco, I constantly faced the challenge of making affordable and straightforward calls back home, especially to essential services like my bank or credit card company - Skype always made it easier for me with their outgoing to calls to a regular phone number. I used Skype 2/3 times a week. When I heard they were closing down, and saw a post by @levelsio on X, I put my head to…

Callzo▲6Every time I land at an international airport, first thing I want to do is call home. Just to say I'm here, I'm safe. But my family isn't always online on WhatsApp. And calling normally from a foreign SIM costs a lot for an international number. I built Callzo for that. Nothing like rocket science or latest AI buzz. Open a browser, call any number, done. Tried it on my Japan trip. Called home when I landed. On the way back, a friend wanted me to check iPhone prices at the airport — called him through Callzo while I had Japan's internet running. Whole trip, I didn't even use 10 minutes.…

Hi HN, As a weekend project, I hacked together a physical phone, a Raspberry Pi running Asterisk and Twilio, to let toddlers safely make international calls. I’ve documented the setup in this write-up and published the code + Ansible playbooks on GitHub so others can replicate it. I built this so kids of expats can easily stay in touch with family on other continents. Would love feedback from anyone who’s worked on something similar or tries building this themselves! writeup: https://wip.tf/posts/telefonefix-building-babys-first-intern... github repos: -…

I build a skype clone, where you can make international calls via browser. Skype was my go to app for that, but since they shut it down, decided to build my own. Its perfect for calling international customer support, or any other gov numbers. Its pay-as-you-go - so no subscription charges, very transparent pricing. You can just top up $5 and see pricing in real time during the call.

Hi All ,I been working on my idea , A Voice CRM solution for 2 years. When I started brainstorming the idea the only option I have to receive phone calls thru browser was a flash widget or use 3rd party providers like Twilio or Phono . Thanks to WebRTC we now integrated our VoIP services to receive and make calls directly thru browser .Please have a look and give us your feedback .Thanks Voz.io Team .

CallSky.io▲16I built CallSky as a simple alternative for international calling after Microsoft shut down Skype earlier this month. The app lets you make calls to landlines and cell phones worldwide starting at $0.01/minute with a pay-as-you-go model. I noticed that while Teams replaced Skype's video/chat conferencing, it doesn't offer the same affordable PSTN calling that many people relied on. WhatsApp and other messaging apps don't solve this - whether you're an expat calling the IRS for taxes, reaching elderly family members who don't use smartphones, or contacting people in areas with…
