I wrote this small client to read hackernews from my favorite editor. It's currently using an external HTTP API [0] but I'm working on my own proxy [1]. I'd love to actually scrape and cache all the info I need using lisp. However, my time constraints are keeping me away of that goal. I've created a quick application that stores data in IPFS (http://ipfs.io) which is a distributed web implementation. It's working as expected, paste some content, get a hash in the url and send to a friend. The content will be there forever and distributed to peers that asks for it. Hey everyone! I've been working on hsrs, a type-safe Haskell Bindings Generator for Rust. I couldn't really find any bindings generator that would create type-safe, rich bindings for Haskell from Rust. I'm looking for feedback on this approach to an immutable string (istring). The idea is to provide a super fast immutable string that can be efficiently passed to lambdas as well as be 100% thread safe. Another bonus is faster hashing. If a string literal is given to istring, then the hash is computed at compile time! Other strings will have their hashes cached for later use. The istring is designed more or less after the python string in this regard. It should also consume less memory than std::string and perform faster in all other areas.
