Products that do what Kinda like posterous? does
Always loved posterous, but I thought it would be really cool if somehow you could treat email addresses like twitter hashtags and usernames. So after 2 days of coding, it's here and works. It's not pretty, but it's really neat & kinda addicting. Anyone can email or text anything to _ _ _ _ _ [email protected] and it immediately creates a public page and an email address. For example, say you wanted to create a page for coding errors called fmlcodesucks, you could just text or email it to [email protected] and it instantly posts your picture to that page and lets anyone contribute by…

Hey HN, I'm a longtime reader and this is my first Show HN (exciting!) It's a collaboration between me and two friends, and we're building this upon another app we made called EmailYak, an API to receive email. We're trying something new and releasing the documentation to an app while we're still building it. We'd love feedback. Do you belong to any of these categories? 1) You've built an app with two distinct groups of users (say, people with cars and those looking for a ride) and they were able to communicate with each other. Did you expose personal email addresses? Did you send…

Hey HN- this is a project that took me a few weeks to build out. It's something I've been wanting to make for a long time, but never could connect the dots to see how it could be done. Sendity.com is a super simple way to send physical letter. I'm obviously not the first to this idea or anything, but since Lob.com makes printing+mailing so damn easy I thought I'd take a swing at it. I learned a lot about development throughout. I didn't expand much into their API but it has some awesome features I could cook in. Where do you think I could take it from here? I have grand ideas of what it…

Hi Everyone, Today I'm proud to announce the upcoming launch of Postcard. You can visit the launch page here - http://www.postcardsocial.net However, since this is Hacker News, I thought the community might be more interested in my blog entry which explains in detail why the project should be of interest to developers including information about the open API Protocol it will adhere to. You can read the blog entry here - http://blog.postcardsocial.net/introducing-postcard/ Feedback is welcome and appreciated. I'm actively looking for beta testers and you can sign…

Capturing emails always sucked. I don't want to add a full-blown newsletter API. That's why I've created my own tool. Would love your feedback on this

Hi HN, I'm excited to share a project I've been working on: UnwrapEmail(https://unwrap.email), an API designed to detect and verify disposable or temporary email addresses. Features: - Detect disposable email addresses - Extract labels from email addresses (e.g., Gmail) - Normalize addresses by removing labels or special characters (e.g., Gmail) - Validate MX records of domains - Check whether it’s safe to send to a given email to reduce bounces and maintain sender reputation Why I Built This: As the owner of an AI wrapper app, I've seen decent traffic thanks to SEO efforts + ads,…

Example: Blah blah blah Please also DM me here: https://bar.cwhlabs.com/s/Y6QJLKFDJNAOQ1D2VEITYKJRRVANI9NP --- How it works: Create a inbox -> generate link -> leave it -> check mail in 7 days -> (auto destroy) leave it on the anonymous place whatever you want people to contact you one time only, ask them to leave a contact method also. Contact them back. Basically it is a safer way to contact online since scammers are crazy collecting our infos/social handles in 2023. The mailbox will auto burnt after 7 days. I hope it helps you. Thanks for visit.

Last night I had a stupid idea, and wanted to check if it is technically possible. Well, it is! In a nutshell: Emoji support for your website's URLs. yourwebsite.com/contact - booring yourwebsite.com/:phoneemoji: - cool! So I wrote a nodejs middleware that offers emoji support for your API, with 2 lines of code. (well if you count the installation 3 lines) Here's the project: https://www.npmjs.com/package/slashemoji I currently have support for the /contact and /about routes. Can you give me some ideas of what other URLs to cover, and what emojis to…

Hello Hacker News! In the past few weeks I've been working on a side project that allows you to post anonymously a short message and a photo that is tied to your location. Other people can see posts around them in a radius of 1 kilometer. Posts are ephemeral and disappear after one day. That's all. It started as an exercise to try to write a geohash index and to try nodejs and Redis. I'm not sure if/how it could be useful. Maybe it could be used as a quick way of sharing something with someone next to you, or to leave a reminder for someone at a specific location. Or it could be abused…

Hi HN, I created a (realistic) fake tweet generator to make my mum believe I'm successful until I get there for real haha. Now I can proudly (not) show her Elon endorsed my SaaS! It's 100% free to use and I tried to make it as realistic as possible while being easy to use. There are already existing similar tools but I could not find one that automatically pre-fills data from a twitter username and that handles business accounts (square picture/gold badge/company picture) so I built it. I would love to hear your feedback or suggestions!

Excited to share something I've been building recently called ReplyGuy. I made it to solve a personal pain with a SaaS product I built, which was that we were always monitoring Reddit and Twitter to see if anyone had mentioned keywords indicating they were looking for us. Before, we had to go manually respond to posts, often missing good mention opportunities. Would love for HN folks to try it and let me know what you think!

Hi Hackers, I recently published "Mail Do" url: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id898121234 I made it out of personal need to "fix" by todo system. But the way it came out, I think it could be useful to many. Here is why I decided to spin my own https://medium.com/@maildoapp/inspiration-behind-maildo-5c210a16fc51 I would love some feedback. I already noticed some bugs and working on a quick patch. I would appreciate some HN love and feedback. Thanks, P.S. Thanks to AppSites that I found on Show HN couple days back, I was able to get the website up…

Hey HN, sharing something I've been working on. I love reading new voices. I subscribe to a lot of brilliant newsletters but found it hard to keep track of all the great stuff I was reading. I'd read something, love it, never be able to find it again. And then, how do you find new ones worth trying? And which posts do you start with? With Inbox World, you can submit and upvote the best of Substack and other similar platforms. The goal is to build a community around the best independent writing out there. It's like HN for newsletters! This is a passion project for me and I'm not technical at…

Hey HN, I'm Ankit, Founder Dottypost (https://twitter.com/ankit_saas) I've been writing content on LinkedIn for almost 2 years. But, the struggle to do consistent posting is real. So I built an AI SaaS that helps with LinkedIn content creation effortlessly. We'd love to get your feedback on the product and anything else that comes to your mind. It would be super useful for us. Thank you!

You can also create social media images and posts for all major platforms, including Instagram, Twitter, and Reddit, to promote your events, product launches, or successful feature releases. I got tired of the cognitive dissonance involved in reading twitter -- topics kept jumping around. So, i wrote a thingy. Features: - filter by user, list, or regex - each group you filter to has its own "mark as complete" button (so you don't have to read everything in one sitting, but can still be a completionist eventually). - tries to do inline images with a lightbox - tries to be compact - first time users, can have it auto-gen a config fore you - config is a multi-line text block so super-powerful but not UX friendly Drawbacks: - does save your configuration in a db in the cloud so not…
